Came to town on business and the Tavern was close to our hotel. Everything that we had here was very good. They offer a good selection of food choices that are all made in house. We were so impressed that everyone wanted to come back the next day.

Claims to have offered to reimburse me but i never saw such an offer. Felt the need to call my experience bogus cause they don’t like being called out. This has reinsured that i will never give them business again and will be telling others to do the same!

They need more servers, there was maybe two wait staff for the entire restaurant and they were NOWHERE TO BE SEEN. I got my food, no silverware, waited over 30 minutes and did not see a SINGLE staff member that entire time! What am I supposed to do? Just take silverware and hope it's clean? Go into the kitchen and ask?? I had them take my food off the check and left, absolutely not paying for food I didn't eat because I COULDNT EAT.

Stopped in for a beer after dinner. Love the space! Great friendly staff! Didn’t order any food but it looked great!! Had the hazy IPA and it was perfection!

Edited review: in town for a weekend wedding from out of state and dined here on Friday evening, 9/26/25. Food and service was actually great. However, I paid my check with my bank debit card and wrote “cash” in tip section as I left a generous cash tip over 20%. Check was for total $86.02. Upon checking our bank statement online we found we were debited $100.02 (an extra $14 with no explanation). UPDATE 10/01/25: after my initial review, management responded with an apology and stated that the $14 tip was applied in error by my server and they now credited my account back that $14 overcharge. Again, We enjoyed our visit with Gritty’s and I appreciate the quick response and correction. Just be aware of potential non-disclosed charges. I personally handed my server her cash tip, yet told now after noticing the extra charge she added a tip in error, after getting my receipt without it. 🤷♂️
I was a regular here for a lifetime, but life got in the way and I moved further away. I swing by any time I'm in the area and I love how the only changes here are for the better. Jacky is the best bartender and host on the planet. I love this place!
Update 9-2025 Today I traded bar jokes with Bobby. He's an old timer with some stories to tell, you just have to dig a little. Great service and great people. I miss coming here all the time.

I really like this place. The food is good, and the staff were very nice, and that pub atmosphere is fun. Nice outdoor seating, weather permitting. I'm in. Auburn/ Lewiston quite a bit, and I almost always go here for dinner, at least once a trip.

Stopped in for a local experience on our visit from Georgia. The food was great, and had a nice pub atmosphere. Our server Angela made us feel welcome and took good care of us.The build your own burger and fish and chips were great and the local beer choices were spot on. Great overall experience and worth the stop.
