I ordered to our Brunswick location tonight at 5:30, had some errands to do, got there 20 minutes after they said it would be ready, it wasn’t, the poor young men making sandwiches and doing oven work never came to the counter, the older gentleman finally came over and said he was waiting on our one hot sandwich, which they never started until I said I was there, 20 minutes later they realized the hot sandwich was done, wrapped it and put it next to our cold sandwich order, 10 minutes later I mentioned I thought my order may be complete, they handed it to me and walked away, no sorry, no have a good night. Got home and both dagwoods, they were half wrapped with barely any thing in them. One boy had very long hair dangling in his eyes, (really hope there’s no hair in our food, ) not a good experience, and I’ve lived here my entire life and have used them a lot, not again for a very long time 😡
Falsely advertising their prices. Menu board states one price. But check out states an increased price with no logical explanation as to why their menu does not match the final check out price.
My expensive "chef salad" didn't even have half a piece of cheese nor half a slice of ham and turkey. An absolute ripoff!
Great food great staff
don't get me wrong they have amazing food at the augusta location but the woman who was managing the place (melissa) is absolutely absurd. the amount of attitude not only I received but also an employee working was absolutely ridiculous. She berated this poor girl in front of customers and I'm honestly surprised you're able to keep any employees at that location just based on the 10 minute interaction I saw today. and this wasn't the first time. I'd say a new manager needs to happen.
Honestly I was shocked first time I ordered from here, first off they told me a 10-15 min wait on a large two topping pizza right around dinner time on a Friday night, and when I pulled into the parking lot it was barren, I was a bit worried, I thought maybe this place was a hole in the wall.
But when I got my pizza I was VERY surprised by the quality, reminds me a lot of a few of the better pizza joints in Bangor, but at a fraction of the price and 30 mins faster than all of them. Pending an unfortunate experience it’s safe to say Sam’s will be my go-to when I’m in town.
Sam's is a great sandwich shop with pizza and spaghetti. Local classic that started in Lewiston. Good for dine in or take out.
My husband and I just had lunch at the Sam’s Italian Restaurant in Augusta, Maine. The cranberry almond chicken salad sandwich was excellent, and I had to save half of it for later because it was so huge. My husband had the chicken parmigiana sandwich and he said it was the best he ever had. Kind, friendly employees. The place was nice and clean. Glad we found this restaurant. We will definitely be back soon.
Simple and unassuming but tasty food... Reliably good!
I ordered a Regular Meat Calzone with no cheese. Got home and couldn't eat it because it had cheese. Called to tell them, and the response was do you want my shift leader. I said "no I want food I can eat"
When I got there to get my replacement, the shift leader said "they usually come with cheese, so you need to specify" I asked if there was a better way to specify than ordering "no cheede"
the replacement they gave me was a mini.

I love the old time feel of the place. The workers are incredibly nice! I miss Maine Italian sandwiches and always get one when I visit. This is my go-to place!

I ordered 2 turkey Italian subs and chicken finger yesterday. The sub should be called onion sub cause it was full of onions. You could barely see any of the other condiments. They also forgot to put mayo no oil
Such a waste of 60 bucks. I ordered it from Uber eats
Please do better

My husband, baby and I had a fantastic lunch at Sam’s on 7/28. The two employees were very friendly and our subs were delicious. Not to mention, the entire restaurant was spotless! We will definitely stop at Sam’s again next time we travel through Auburn.

Prices have skyrocketed. Changed their coupon policies. service is slow. tables are always dirty. Lower quality items.
Food tastes good they overload the onions and pickles and forget there is any other food that goes into an Italian though. Ask for extra olives get charged the silly. 150 no extra olives had like 4 pieces bullcrap. 20+bucks for onions and pickles.
