Good Food. Kitchen service a bit slow. Cool vibe.
The Elk Chowder is the greatest thing on planet Earth and the service is top notch.

This is the best restaurant in Bangor by a very wide margin. Every course was delectable. Our server was a young man named Derek, and he provided the best service that we have experienced in a very long time. 11 Central is well worth the wait on any given night. Do yourself a favor and just eat here. You will not do better in the area. We particularly enjoyed the chili, the catfish, and the carrot cake.

My husband and I walked into the restaurant around 7:35 and were seated by 7:40. Our waitress was nice and was able to give us some decent suggestions on entrees and drinks. However, after receiving our first drinks, it all went downhill. From then on, we basically were ignored until the restaurant closed. It took almost 40 minutes to get our appetizer salads, and then over an HOUR to get our entrees. My husband tried asking someone who we thought may have been the manager if the kitchen was backed up, and he just gave us a snarky "well yeah, I mean we are busy." No apologies from him or the waitress. Food was good, but not worth the wait. It was a bummer! Had high hopes. Hoping this was just a one time situation, I do wish the restaurant well!

Took 45 mins to even be served our appetizer salads. Fish was overcooked and under seasoned, and one side of the filet actively smelled bad. Wasn’t cheap either.
Had a fantastic dinner with friends
I had the short ribs

The waitress, Brooklyn, was fantastic. The owner was horrible. They did not have the “turf” portion of the surf and turf in the menu. The waitress worked with the kitchen to substitute a different cut of meat (filet in the menu). The owner came over and said it would be a $19 up charge to change to strip steak! He was terribly rude - no customer service. I’ll NEVER eat here again. Terrible management.

First restaurant in Maine as non-locals was a total success!! My sister and friend had just landed in Portland and immediately drove up here to catch this gem of a place before closing! We got here an hour before and I will say initially the hostess was a little snide because it was closer to their closing time, but our waiter was so awesome and welcoming, especially once we td him this was our first time here! He explained everything on the menu perfectly and had awesome recommendations for us! We all got light food and the portions were well in size and overall not incredibly overpriced! The drink menu looked phenomenal with a large variety of cocktails, dessert martinis, beer, and wine. The actual dinner menu had a large selection of apps, vegetarian dishes, and dishes with meats in them and all very curated for the culture up here! The dessert menu was very diverse depending on your craving. Overall, it did not disappoint!! Great for a little girls night like ours or for a date night with a loved one!
Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian selections!!
Dietary restrictions: A lot of customizable!
Parking: Downtown street parking
Kid-friendliness: Restaurant is a bit more upscale, but kids would be welcomed!
Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible! All one level

I ate at a table on a busy Saturday night, but was able to get seated right away.
The good: I enjoyed the Gold Rush cocktail which was tall and strong and recommended to me by the bartender. I had the seafood linguini and it was very good, especially the sauce, and it didn't scrimp on the seafood. The price was reasonable for the amount of seafood.
The bad: Boy oh boy, two big things here that overshadowed the experience. IT TOOK 38 MINUTES TO BRING OUT THE APPETIZER SALAD. 38. When I asked 20 minutes in, they said "sometimes it takes that long." It took about 50 minutes for the main. That's honestly just silly. I had planned that it would take a while, but I would have been a husk if I were starving. The other not so great part? The server informed me there'd be an upcharge to deviate from the standard salad. That's fine! It took 38 minutes to come out (whatever) and was on a VERY small plate, hardly worth the $4. I don't know who my server was because they didn't tell me. The snail pace service was very unfortunate because the food was very good. Bring some patience or a snack while you're waiting.

The food was very well cooked and I like that there were some things you wouldn't find at most restaurants. Restaurant was clean and we didn't have to wait long for our food. The thing I didn't like was our waitress occasionally made faces or seemed to almost roll her eyes at us. I can't think of a better term than that she seemed snobby. It was bizarre because she'd speak politely and smile but then you'd catch this smirk or eye roll as she turned away as if she thought poorly of us for some reason. It was pretty confusing because we eat at nice restaurants fairly regularly, aren't overly picky with adjusting our orders or anything so we didn't give her cause to act bothered so I can only guess she just isn't a genuinely polite person, which is too bad. It was our first time at this location and maybe we'll try again but more likely to go to Butcher and the Baker or Evenroods where we've gotten not only good food but what seemed like genuinely pleasant and respectful service.
