I'm consistently impressed when I go here. I'm not usually a fan of chain restaurants, but Chili's in Bangor always exceeds my expectations. The service and value (particularly at lunch) is really wonderful. It is usually my second choice, and yet, when I go I always wonder why I didn't go more often

My partner and I decided to visit Chili’s yesterday after a fun day of shopping around Bangor. We were sat pretty quickly upon entering, but there was no sign of our server for about 15 minutes after being sat (maybe a few minutes longer). After about 15 minutes, our young blonde woman server finally greets us and says she “has a lot to catch up on” and didn’t apologize for our wait at all. Most people would have ordered their food and drinks by now, and we are just now being talked to. She seemed to have a bit of an attitude and she made me feel like just being there and her having to serve us was an inconvenience. I understand that it can get busy and stressful sometimes as a server, but she could have spent the same amount of time with us and been kind and apologetic for our wait. Our food and drinks were brought by another server, a young man who was very nice. He was our server for the majority of our meal. Our young woman server seemed to have no trouble being kind and available for the bigger table next to us, probably expecting it to yield a better tip. Like I said, I’ve never been made to feel like an inconvenience more at a restaurant than I did here. The food also wasn’t great. I got the triple dipper and thought each item on my plate would be better than it was. The Nashville hot tenders were a highlight, but the sauce leaked onto the other two foods around it. The sauces all had the consistency of water and my mozzarella sticks were falling apart the whole time I was eating them. I don’t aim to get this young woman server in trouble with my review, hell, I don’t even know her name. I just hope maybe somebody who works here sees this review, knows who I’m talking about, and can maybe have a talking to with this person and ask them to re-approach the way they serve when it’s busy. I give this Chili’s 2 stars: 1 for the kind young man server and 1 for the Nashville hot chicken tenders. I would say I hope to return and be given better service and food, but I honestly don’t think there will be a next time. To that young blonde server, please do better and be kinder to your tables that don’t happen to have eight people.
