No longer open
Never been. Sounds like they were awesome. Unfortunately when I stopped by they seem to be closed.
Was looking forward to going here based on reviews, but when I went the place was closed. Second time going on 2 separate days and it was closed both times. Think it's safe to say it's out of business
I get their takeout at the United Farmers Mkt in Belfast - great food!!! Big fan!
I showed up late in the evening on a weekday, had super fast service and was on my way with oxtail, fried chicken, rice and beans, plantains and slaw/salad. I had never had oxtail before, but another customer picking up takeout said all of her friends loved it. I liked it so much that I went back the next day, even though it's quite the drive for me. The next day I called ahead shortly after lunch time to place an order for me and the family. I got another round of oxtail, and j*** chicken, fried chicken for the kiddos and curry for my wife. Assorted sides again and off and running for family dinner. It was a hit- huge servings for fair prices and nobody went hungry despite some picky eaters. Give it a try even if you're not sure about “Jamaican goodâ€- at the end of the day it's comfort food.
You should try it
I've been here a few times and the smell of food and the service both are on point. The servings are generous and very little wait. Only issue I have is I wish they were open more often so i could order more frequently. Hole-in-the-wall restaurants like this always have some of the best food around.
Great food.
Unfortunately, it's gone down hill. Last time I went was the last time. They are stingy on the beans in rice and beans! They gave me some cabbage dish (not coleslaw) which I didn't ask for or ate. I asked for two portions of rice and beans, which I didn't get. The place looks dark and dirty. Never use their restroom, it's probably the most DISGUSTING rest room I've ever been in. Please believe me on this one.
Ordering was quick and easy, restaurant was warm ( it was cold outside) and food was delicious. Highly recommend, especially judging that this is a very unique restaurant to be in Bangor.

Decent location but never been there to eat
Dont know what took me so long to eat here, but now I'm wishing I had tried it wayy sooner. The guy working the register AND cooking my order was super friendly. Recommended the j*** chicken to me since I told him I love spicy food. $10 for a HUGE serving of some of the most delicious food ive ever eaten. (Kudos to the chef whoever you are, you certainly know what youre doing). Didn't call ahead and my food was still ready in less than 10 minutes!. Highly highly reccomend this place to everyone. Will definitely be back.
Best BEST Fried chicken! I don t eat chicken on a bone but this place is an exception! Rice and Beans on point . Oh and can't forget the potatoe salad here! The BEST! SO CRAVING THIS RIGHT NOW!
Food is good. If you get what you order. Multiple times I've called and ordered food, to get home and find out they just gave me whatever sides they wanted. Today I repeated my order 3 times on the phone. I received a small scoop each of the meat and one side that i actually I wanted, and the container overfilled with rice that will go in the trash. What a waste.
The oxtail is amazing, the staff is friendly, and make sure that you get the ting soda, its also amazing
