My recent visit to Judy's left much to be desired. Despite hearing rave reviews from numerous people about their remarkable food, I was sorely disappointed. Upon entering, I was greeted by friendly staff, which initially gave me hope for a pleasant dining experience. However, my optimism quickly faded when I noticed my waiter casually drinking a beer at 10 in the morning, which seemed unprofessional. As for the food, I ordered a simple breakfast, expecting it to be executed with care and freshness. Unfortunately, everything arrived cold, leaving me questioning the quality of their kitchen operations. The sausage I ordered was particularly disappointing, as it arrived nearly black in color and still had the texture of being frozen. Overall, my experience at Judy's was far from satisfactory. Despite the friendly demeanor of the staff, the lackluster food quality and unprofessional behavior left me with a sour taste in my mouth. It's unfortunate that my visit did not live up to the hype I had heard from others. Can literally get a better meal at Governors don't waste your money.

Great food! Waiter drinking beer and the bar is always open even at 1030 am. Not a good environment at all!!!

I went alone and sat at the bar ordered a breakfast and a champagne. If you’re not a townie or it can feel awkward alone . It’s a great place to go after work with friends if you work nights .

This place was a little diamond in the rough. It's hard to find a place that does a good breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised at the portion, taste, and prices. I will definitely be going back and will remember to take a picture to post before I dig in.

Once when I was there a person from Africa offered to buy me a drink, which I sadly had to decline because of a meeting. The breakfast I had was superb!

My partner and I really enjoyed eating here today for lunch. Prices were very reasonable. They serve breakfast, lunch, and alcohol. My wife ordered the house special and french toast and I ordered a BLT with fries. I thought the fries were a little off which i why i rated them a four on food but the blt was great and my wife really enjoyed her food. The atmosphere was congenial, the decor is dominated by dale earnhardt and his son and also budweiser. I found it quite charming. I loved the condiment stands with “judy’s” carved into them.

Great little mom and pop place for breakfast. Plenty of seating, fast service and fresh food. My coffee cup was never empty, which I love. They have a great menu selection with some old time Maine flavors.

My partner and I have gone to Judy’s twice total. We wanted to try a local Bangor staple and really thought this was the place based on reviews. The first time was lackluster, but we thought maybe it was just an off day for Judy’s. We took two friends for our second visit a couple of days ago. This time made it more evident that our first experience was just how Judy’s operates. The restaurant itself looks and feels dirty, and has desperately needed a renovation or deep clean for at least a decade. The waitress seemed rude and impatient, and the environment is very unwelcoming unless you’re a regular. They say “no substitutions” on breakfast items, but really it’s a just cover for you to remove an item and have to pay $4+ to order a different full-sized side item. The food was the lowest par for diner food and only what I can describe as sad. I got mid-rare steak and over-easy eggs and was greeted with a grey, sad piece of overcooked meat with no sear and eggs with one crushed yolk and a bizarre film on top. The home fries that my friend and partner ordered were somehow overcooked and undercooked at the same time. Tough, overdone outside, and tough underdone middle. Everything else was barely passable. Again, I understand this is diner food and I’m not expecting more, but this stuff barely makes the cut. I don’t think they realize that there are other seasonings out there besides the salt and pepper on the tables. The waitress was inattentive and spent most of her time chatting with a customer at the bar. My friend spent half of her meal waiting for a water refill, then the rest of us slowly followed suit with our waters. We only got a refill 5 minutes before we left because it took one of the kitchen staff walking by to notice and offer refills, then he was the one who brought them opposed to the waitress, who was still chatting and (I can only hope) oblivious. After experiencing what Judy’s has to offer, I can with confidence say that their only enthusiastic patronage (and the good reviews) comes from people clinging on to the scraps of memories and nostalgia in this place or those who seek out alcoholic beverages at 6AM. My best advice to give Judy’s a try is to start going there 20 years ago, otherwise you’re in for a cold welcome, food that a teenager could cook 10x better, and dust that has outlasted multiple presidential administrations.

The guy who brings drinks and cleans the table, so damn sweet. Cute accent too. He saw my toddler right when we got to the table and offered to bring her some toast while we browsed the menu. Thank you for doing that extra bit of kindness. Food was tasty. Service was quick. We will be coming back.
