Nice Irish style pub and restaurant on premise at Hilton Garden inn Bangor. The menu has a good variety from traditional appetizers to pot pie and good selection of burgers and sandwiches.

The Claddagh Irish Pub right in the hotel was super convenient for takeout. Tried three different dishes and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious. The chicken pot pie is a must-try, seriously amazing. The steak was tasty too, little pricey but was really good. The boneless wings were good too but definitely not woth $16—like $4 a wing. Overall, great food with kind of high prices but worth it for some good food.

If I could rate this a zero I would. We’re told to seat ourselves/ brought a drink mind you the place is empty for the most part. 45-1 hr later still no food and another 30plus minute wait for food. This Puts us at closing. Thanks for ruining our evening and not telling us this was going to be a long wait. Waitress seemed clueless. Sorry this was a poor excuse for an evening. This place ruined our stay in the hotel attached.

The woodwork is very nice. It has the feel of a local. It was clean. It was missing a dart board. The art was black and white...lacked colour. Our server was very accommodating and the bar tender was extremely friendly. The menu was kind of Irish. It does have the adopted bar dish of Bangers and Mash which the Claddagh uses the term " bratwurst" to describe the sausage. Lots of Guinness based dishes too...A bratwurst is a German sausage typically made with pork, often seasoned with spices like nutmeg, marjoram, and caraway, while an Irish sausage, also called a "banger," is a milder sausage with a higher proportion of meat and less pronounced spices, often including ingredients like breadcrumbs or rusk to create a softer texture. Fish and Chips and other bar staples were there....but it does not feel Irish.
I guess it meets the definition. An authentic Irish pub will be a very laid back and chill. This meets the bill. A good place for a drink if you get over it's a hotel bar with limited hours and serves tater tots/pizza.
So the order:
A salad was brought out. It was a garden salad. It only loses points based on the courtons having this dry crumbly look....it was a salad. Nothing lost nor nothing gained.
The soup of the day...was chowder. The name "chowder" comes from the French word chaudiere, which refers to a large, three-legged iron cooking pot. I mean chowder is traditional Irish. Again uninspired...No beef barley, curry soup (mulligantawny), potato leek....something!!!
Now, The special entree was great! I had the chicken pot pie. The pastry top was flaky and good. My party got there at 5:18. Despite us and only 1 other party being in the dining room...We were told that we ordered the last two! This was really great and I am sorry other patrons missed out. It was piping hot with potato, Mashed Potatoes smeared to adhere the pastry, carrots, peas, chicken (very little). Plating was messy. I give it a A- but because of the pastry. The filling was a B. Again, the staff made the atmosphere by being very kind.

We were all very impressed! We tried the chili over tots as a starter and ate every bite. I ordered the pasta primavera and scraped the plate. The alfredo sauce on it was so delicious! My daughter loved her chicken sandwich!

We were in the mood for a good pub and found one. Despite being located in a hotel which usually is a big red flag to stay away, this was excellent. From the tater tot Italian poutine to the chicken curry stir fry. I wanted to include a picture but this is all I could get because we were too busy eating.

The ambiance is a bit dark. The service friendly, but inattentive ate times. The food is pretty good. We ordered the steak, tots, and veggie 4/5, ranch chicken sandwich and tots 4/5, and potstickers 4/5. Full bar, and adequate beer and wine choices.

Yum!!!! We stayed at the Hampton across the street, and came here for dinner. It was absolutely delicious and much needed after a long day of traveling. Thank you!!! ?

Had eaten here several years ago and enjoyed our meal. No different this time around. Attentive service and we both had a good steak done just as requested (all too hard to find) . Quiet atmosphere where you can enjoy a conversation. We were staying at the Hampton Inn across the road so all of a three minute walk - very convenient.
