Unfortunately with new management Umami is not what it used to be. In all aspects.Customer service is incredibly poor.The atmosphere looks dead with just a blank look to it as soon as you walk in.And sadly the food no longer tastes like it used to. Bland and no life to it.This used to be one of my favorite noodle places to eat. Sadly now it's no longer that.

The restaurant itself was clean and well lit. The appeal for me was sitting at the window on broad street while we ate.The food was bland . Sad for a restaurant named Umami. The noodles were a great texture and the kimchi was delightful.My martini ( the special) was made out of rum and Hersheys syrup... a sad cry!Lastly I found our server to be rude. Won't be visiting again

I’ve been going to Umami with my friends for years and it’s been sad to see its slow decline. The noodle bowls used to be amazing but in the last year they felt like they got cheaper and cheaper. Not to mention that my girlfriend got a bowl of just noodles for $11 that was barely even a serving, I got what was the equivalent to the old Tokyo bowl for double its original price.I was really hoping since the remodel something would have changed but it’s only gotten worse, the old atmosphere of Umami is non existent now and it just feels like a run of the mill restaurant.I hate to leave a bad review but Umami has really fallen off in the past year.

Waitress moved like a sloth. Drink order which was 2 glasses of wine Took 15 min to get them. Hohum personality. No it wasn’t busy! It took the kid at the counter to take our meal order. When our appetizer came which were the dumplings, they were great,I when our ramen arrived it was barely warm, however the broth was quite tasty. The pork belly was well done but I had a problem with the Ramon noodle texture which was pasty and the mushrooms were slimy like they were from a can and not fresh. Prices aren’t bad but need work on those noodles. Don’t be in a hurry when you order or have other plans which fast service is required. Went, ate but no I have no desire to return. ? Sorry

I always come for some comfort food, it's always great. Umami has been updated a bunch so I was excited to come! The new menu is really big and kinda unwieldy but it's still a fun experience for me and my friends!
