Crab stuffed mushrooms were all bread stuffing, could not identify any crab in the stuffing. Blackened Haddock sandwich was fast food quality, maybe.
Server was pleasant but did not understand the menu as we explored.
Bar was out of the only IPA on draft and the red was only serviceable.

We were in town for a wedding and this place became our home base for 3 days straight. Food and service are good. Lobster roll with homemade chips was substantial. The bar downstairs called Shipbuilders is awesome, too. Go to this place. Thank you Emily and Mary! I hope to see you again.
Friendly service, food pretty good, but had to have them redo the steak: it was ordered rare, came out medium well. But they corrected it perfectly.

Party of 6 during quieter period of time (1-2 other tables being served within our view.) Service was slow (everyone in our party was served minus a burger that was served after everyone else was nearly done.) No special requests.
Burger was good. Fried fish was good. Chowder was good. Crab roll was mediocre and lobster roll was sent back (mushy, fishy after-taste that did not taste like lobster at all.) To their credit, they took it back and refunded us and asked about the taste.
Might try again in the future.

Our server was very sweet and did an excellent job. I got a Reuben on a gluten free bun and it was absolutely delicious. I didn't have even a hint of a reaction, which happens with even minor cross contamination, so I feel confident in saying they do a good job at making sure their gluten free customers are well taken care of. Definitely recommend!
Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free pasta and buns available for those who can't eat gluten. My Reuben came on a gluten free bun and it was very good, not crumbly, and held together nicely! Iykyk.

Even with the abridged menu of late, Maxwell's is always an excellent choice. I miss the prime rib and rack of lamb that one used to be able to order, However, the items remaining on the menu offer plenty of fare from which to choose.
