This place was so good. We had a party of 6 and there was a 15 minute wait. The table was a super comfortable size and the woman serving us was obliging, polite, and interactive. I got the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs and sourdough toast, definitely a must try. I really appreciated how the eggs were actually real (not from a carton) and the way they toasted the bread was just perfect. Everyone else in our party of 6 enjoyed their food and declared we'd come again next year

Sweet Potato Bowl was delicious! Cinnamon Roll was good too! The workers were friendly and nice!

Lots of people should like it, but it’s not for me.

The place is bright, clean & well constructed, but I wouldn’t call it cozy. I enjoy the artwork on the walls. The muffins are moist. I’ve had breakfast there a few times, it was very slow but good enough.

This is not a place to grab a cup of coffee and a muffin and sit and relax. It’s slow, a bit expensive and more geared to reservations and an elderly crowd. People are often waiting for seemingly no reason. It’s not particularly friendly and I didn’t feel welcome to sit down even though there were lots of empty small tables.

If you’re of a certain demographic, and have money and lots of time, you might enjoy this place, but I prefer something more relaxed.

Mae’s is definitely a staple in the area! Conveniently located just off of RT.1 but far enough into town to give you the flavor of Bath, the restaurant also has all the charm of a historical building with the updates of modern comfort. The staff are all very friendly and happy to answer questions. Even on a busy day (we visited on Fathers Day), service was prompt. Once we placed our order, it took about 45 minutes to get our food, which is long, even for the holiday. It was all pretty tasty, but the home fires were all burnt and the pancakes were not super warm, so I am guessing that some cook forgot to make something. Overall, still very enjoyable, but not perfect on this trip.

Order for pick…Got cornbeef with over medium egg. There was too much corn beef (very dry, overcooked) with little dice potatoes. My eggs were also overcooked. Not happy with this breakfast at all.

Cozy and friendly, great for breakfast. The veggie omelet was fluffy and perfectly cooked, not flat and over fried as restaurants usually do. The staff happily accommodated my specific request for no cheese on my omelet, etc.

Wow! Right or wrong, I often judge an establishment on their preparation and execution of French Toast. I know it seems like such a trivial thing, but when french toast isn’t done right, it’s such a disappointment. I had stuffed French Toast at Mae’s Cafe and I have to say it is among the best I’ve ever eaten! It is sweet without being overly sweet. The toast is perfectly prepared, no sogginess. Each of its ingredients compliment each other for an amazing tasty treat that any French Toast lover will truly appreciate. The testators clean, the staff helpful and friendly. I highly recommend Mae’s Cafe & Bakery!! PS we took home several other treats to have later, we just couldn’t resist!!

Mae’s was recommended by our hotel staff. Highly recommended for breakfast. Excellent service and food. Left the restaurant exactly how our wait staff wanted to; a full, happy tummy.
