We had a large group on a weekend summer day we all really enjoyed our breakfast! The people working there were kind and attentive, the food was delicious, and as an added bonus, we had a great time doing the word search on the menu. Hope to come back soon! Definitely recommend!
The smash burgers are delicious!
We walked right in and sat down, there wasn't a long wait for those that came in after us (20 min or so). The atmosphere was nice, the staff was friendly and efficient. I'd been there once before, for a to-go lunch order (also a great experience) but had not had breakfast. I had a special, eggs benedict with cheddar cheese, sausage, english muffin, and home fries. The food was perfect, the coffee flowed continuously, and I found the prices to be reasonable. I will definitely be back. My friend had the meat lover's omelet, toast, and home fries. She said that it was very good, and that she would revisit as well.
Great family restaurant, loved the homemade corned beef
We were there for breakfast, Great all around. I love how the portion sizes are not huge. Responsible sizes.
Southgate is a great place to grab a meal and all of the staff are very friendly.
What a charming and friendly family restaurant. The food was delicious. The dining area was cozy with a selection of booths, tables and two little corner nooks. Between the four of us we tried their veggie omelets, their biscuits and gravy, and eggs and bacon. There was not one complaint but rather smiles and empty plates. I highly recommend you try their rye bread and their free cookies if they have them!! Thank you for your hospitality.

Great food, friendly service, and a killer haddock chowder. Their servings are good-sized, and we always end up taking home leftovers.

Great little place to eat.
This was our first time visiting Maine. We stayed at a nearby campground and came here for breakfast on a rainy day. The food and service was amazing delicious home-cooked meals! Before our long drive back home to New York, we stopped back into the restaurant to pick up some breakfast to go. Breakfast burritos for us and egg and bacon platters for the kids. I called ahead and and told them we were doing a pick up and they made sure that we had the condiments we needed and a bag with cutlery and napkins for the road. Highly recommend this restaurant and we hope to be back one day!
