We saw the relatively low rating so tried to order from a different restaurant but had technical difficulties so decided Yum Mee couldn’t be that bad. Our mistake. The food tasted artificial and even looked it (chicken meat itself was a bright yellow mustard color). My husband had some reheated this morning and for all the world it smelled like warmed up … well suffice to say we won’t go back.
Also, they told us 25 minutes and we arrived after about 30 and still had to wait 10-15 minutes. Usually Chinese takeout is done *before* they say it will be, not afterwards.
Fantastic little restaurant nestled on a side street in downtown Bath. Drove here from Augusta for my birthday last month. Was well worth the drive. The prices are great, especially considering the portions.
I ordered a Pu pu platter for 2. My daughter and I shared it, my friend grabbed a few things and there was still enough to share with people at home. Plenty of seating available. As a bonus, there's this table covered with cute little things you can buy like pens, gift bags, small toys and sticker pages. Can't wait to go back there sometime.
The food is good. Not many extras.
I love the place and the food. The food taste brought a smile to my face. This is better that the Chinese Restaurants where I live.

This place gets a bad rap from some folks, but I've been coming here my whole life and have been nothing but satisfied. The negative reviewers on here must be used to dining in Portland. This is Yum Mee, baby. Give 'em a shot.

Disappointed with chow mein. I've never got this kind of chow mein which is not stir fry noodle at all. They just gave a small bag of deep fry snack and claiming as chow mein. It even came with fried rice, but not a single piece of noodle. Pictures are regular chow mein vs chow mein from this place.

Had to throw most of it away. Couldn’t bite through general tso chicken. Sweet and sour chicken had an odd taste and tough.
Really great food!!! Haven't found properly dried meat like this since I've been in Maine! Overly cooked meat cooks up tough, I like mine in the traditional style! The meat melts off the bone ?!!

We were there this evening and everything was great! Great customer service , and the food was delicious, fresh with huge portions for the price! We ate inside at a table, could tell they were renovating but that didn’t bother us too much. That said, we are excited to go back and see what they do with the place! New date night regular for us for sure!

I’m really fussy about my Chinese food. The place I usually go to is closed on Monday. I decided to try Yum Mee. To my surprise the food was really good. I ordered the dinner combo sweet and sour chicken with beef teriyaki, fried rice and wonton soup. Crab Rangoons and pork lo mein. The person I was with ordered the kung pao chicken dinner combo with fried rice, beef teriyaki and wonton soup. What I had was really good, sweet and sour chicken the chicken was moist and cooked perfectly fried rice was moist and flavorful, also the beef teriyaki was perfectly cooked. crab Rangoons were great, crunchy on the outside and so good. Pork lo mein was really good, and the wonton soup was great. Portions were large. The person I was with had the kung pao chicken with fried rice and beef teriyaki, she also said the food was really good. Price was reasonable. I got take out and by the time I got home to Topsham from Bath the food was still hot. I only gave 3 stars for atmosphere because yes the furniture is a bit run down but I guess that’s because it’s been well used. People behind the counter were nice. Some of the reviews almost made me not order from them. But I took the chance and was glad I did. I am a hard critic and only write honest reviews whether good or bad.

Placed and paid for an order. Went to pick it up and it was wrong. They went on to tell me that the way I wanted it would cost much more. I showed them their web site and placed the order again and showed them the price . Then they wanted me to take my wrong order. I said no and wanted my money back . What a hassle in that venture also what's up with the convenience fee. That must be the fee for messing your order up. They went downhill since they moved.

We always order delivery and the driver is very nice and that is why I am giving 4 stars. The restaurant staff tend to make mistakes, as we often have missing items or wrong items. The people who take orders can also sometimes but very short and they're also inconsistent. For example, we get a Pupu platter for 2 and we usually ask to substitute the shrimp for more teriyaki and most of the time they say no problem there's and extra charge and that's fine. But other times the person will tell is there are no substitutions. Lastly, to rate the food is also difficult. If it's fresh it's great, but alot of the time its cold and greasy.
