To be fair, my partner says the coffee is great. But $4 for a CUP OF TEA?!?! And all it is is Bigelow's organic line. It's not like it's loose leaf, though even then for jasmine green that would be a stretch. It costs them about 15 cents a tea bag. So they're charging ~$3.85 for hot water... I would like to go here with my partner but I'm a tea drinker exclusively. I can't even eat the baked goods, so it feels like there's nothing for me here.

We got the chocolate chip cherry scones and blueberry muffins. Everything was baked perfectly and tasted great. I got a vanilla latte and tasted good and was strong which I like

I came on the 4th and the atmosphere, though very busy, is still incredibly chill. There was a constant stream and line of peoplz and the baristas maintained a friendly and focused energy. Loving the vibe. The seating and gathering areas are artistic, cozy, inviting, and creative. Thank you guys. ☕
4 shot Americano is delish !

I truly never leave bad reviews, but my experience as a Downshift customer has been so singular that I felt obligated to make an account and give folks a heads up. Reading other poor reviews, I see that I’m not the only one.

I’m a former barista and worked at independent third wave coffee shops for over a decade before switching careers. I understand the struggle and am pretty easy to please. The coffee and pastries at Downshift are solid. Unfortunately, I’ve never encountered staff who are so curt with customers. I’ve been into Downshift several times visiting friends in town who enjoy their coffee, and have witnessed counter staff regularly ignoring customers, speaking curtly to them, actually rolling their eyes, and frankly just kinda being jerks.

Barring a few regulars that seem to be heavily favored with gossip and long conversations to the detriment of folks asking honest questions or looking to order-- the vibe here is definitely off. I never thought I’d complain about service anywhere, and it feels weird to be doing it, but here we are. Forming relationships with regulars is usually an awesome part of a local, but here it’s clearly turned up to an almost comical degree, and it ruins this place for me.

Great coffee shop. Killer vibe. Pretzel muffins are the best baked good I’ve ever had. And they are made in a dinky little oven. Amazing. Nice counter to sit at and great outdoor Adirondack chairs outside.

My wife and I just got married yesterday in Belfast and were looking for a coffee shop to go into this morning and we’re instantly attracted to the pride flag thinking that that would be a comfortable place for us to go in but when we got in there people were very rude. They only had one menu and when asked for it, someone threw it at us. Very bad vibes. Will not be coming back

A really great artisanal / new wave coffee shop where the barista really knows what she’s doing. They also roast the coffee in house, and the roaster is super knowledgeable too. I bought a bag of freshly roasted Tanzania peaberry beans after talking to the roaster, and dialed it in for espresso at home. It was perfect! The espresso roast used in the cafe is super smooth as well with some unique complexity. I loved this cafe and will be sure to stop there on every trip to Acadia. Thank you Downshift!

Excellent coffee on a cool, rainy day. The fun decor and friendly staff gave the shop a great atmosphere. If you like a stronger flavor to your coffee, I would recommend getting double flavoring.

We stopped here twice on our way to and from Acadia.
The coffee and cakes were delicious and they had a super nice play area where our two kids were entertained for one hour. Best stop on our road trip

Came in for an iced mocha and a cappuccino. Shop is bright and welcoming, ladies behind the counter were very friendly, and the drinks were delicious. Didn’t try any food but it looked delicious.
