Lovely small restaurant. We began with the hamachi jalapeños appetizer and were disappointed by the red meat hamachi instead of the buttery white meat. The speciality roll and sashimi (served on ice) were just fine, but not outstanding. For dessert, we had a pear persimmon mochi cake with a brilliant vegan caramel sauce (made from olive oil, maple syrup and tamari) but the fruit in the cake was hard/unripe. Nice ambiance and excellent service. We got the dumplings, spicy edamame and a vegetable roll as our appetizers. Vegetable roll was the star.

For our mains, we got a tonkatsu ramen and a vegan ramen. We were very disappointed with the ramen. It was very very watery and didn’t have any flavor. We had maybe 3/4 bites of it and stopped eating it after. Wouldn’t recommend ramen here, and it’s $23 a bowl.

Satori is a cozy, consistently excellent Japanese restaurant in the heart of Belfast — a town you might not immediately associate with fresh sushi, thoughtful cocktails, and a refined dining experience, but it absolutely delivers on all fronts.
