We go there when we go back to Maine on vacation, this time we had it shipped it came when promised and they were great. Very good price.
overpriced, the atmosphere isn't good either
overpriced for the quality
Incredible place. Outdoor deck has spectacular views of Belfast. One of the best lobster rolls you can get in Maine, served with style.
This is truly a lobster pound, but you can buy all kinds of fresh seafood. The interior is nice and chaotic, with staff members hollering seemingly random numbers to customers (ours was thirteen thousand forty five) and crowds milling about aimlessly. Truly a uniquely entertaining and highly memorable experience!
The closest thing you can get to having your own private fisherman supplying you with seafood… if you don’t have those connections… and they are as availability as a Maine fisherman is dedicated to his lifestyle.
Got 2 lobster rolls & small bag of plain chips. Definitely not worth $70. Bun was old and stale. The lobster itself was good. But overall wouldn't have wasted THAT much money on a tiny roll smaller than my hand (for a woman I have small hands).
Lobster roll was expensive, but it also had a lot of meat and was tasty. The clam chowder was also expensive and too watery for me. Ordering is a little confusing and you pay once you pick up your food.
I really appreciate they that they open for two hours on Christmas Day so that those of us that have lobster and clams as a tradition can get down there and get our dinner for the night. I love these guys.
Beautiful fresh shellfish. The bring your own tablecloth, cutlery, wine etc and sit by the water tradition is just so fun and made for an unforgettable date. Beware if you want to take the ferry from Belfast you need to plan well in advance based on season etc.
This is a working lobster pound first and a restaurant a distant second, exactly what we wanted. The first floor is filled almost entirely with holding tanks and a food counter where you place your order. There are plenty of options in addition to whole lobster, all from the sea. We had hardshell lobster and clams which were perfectly steamed. Leave room for some blueberry pie, while served cold, it was delicious.
Other than a plastic fork no other utensils are provided so be sure to have them crack the claws for you. Picnic tables on the second floor provide plenty of seating. The building is right on the water providing great views of the harbor and the homes across it. There was no heat so dress accordingly if you come during colder months.

The "Young Lobsters Pound" is a lovely restaurant with an incredibly beautiful view. There is a range of seafood to eat, which is freshly prepared for you. We had lobster and a lobster roll, both of which were delicious. I can only recommend a visit to this restaurant, if it is too windy there is enclosed seating upstairs, the toilets were clean.

What a gem. An underrated place. The food was delicious and fresh. Plenty of seating upstairs. Clean bathrooms. We had stir fried lobster and lobster and corn. Both highly recommended. Clam chowder and lobster stew was not bad, not great either. My favorite was clams.

This was my favorite out of all of the lobster pounds we visited. The views from the seating deck were beautiful and the crab roll was delicious (and piled high with crab).

My wife and I took a road trip down the Maine coast and stopped at 4 different lobster shacks. Young's was our favorite by a wide margin. The lobster was fantastic and they are charging the same as other lobster shacks but at Youngs you get a bunch of clams with it too. We got the steamed lobster and lobster stew. A+. Great scenery also.
