I was so excited to eat here — and it completely blew me away.
We ordered the brown butter banana bread, which was insanely fresh: buttery, salty, and perfectly soft. The tuna melt was divine, and the fried chicken sandwich… wow. The chicken was juicy, flavorful, and crispy — honestly one of the best I’ve ever had — and the slaw on it was just perfect. Even the wedge salad was done really well.
It’s tiny but super cool diner vibe (I think only about 12 seats), but they run everything so efficiently. The staff is incredibly kind, and they make the waiting and waitlist process simple and smooth.
I really loved it and can’t wait to come back and try more.

First off, I want to say that I really like this place. The first time I came, everything about the experience was great. Because of that, I brought my wife today to show her. Unfortunately, this visit was a letdown.
We checked in and were happy to wait outside for about 30 minutes for a table. When we checked in, we already knew what we wanted to order: the Lumberjack special, specifically for the pancakes. When we finally ordered, we were told they were out of pancakes (and another item). What was frustrating wasn’t just that they were unavailable, but that there was no acknowledgment or apology, and no advance notice.
If certain items are unavailable — especially something central to a popular dish — that feels like information that could and should easily be shared up front, before asking people to wait outside in the cold. Even a simple “Sorry, we just ran out of pancakes” would have gone a long way, but we didn't get that.
I completely understand that it was close to closing and that kitchens have limits. That’s reasonable. I was grateful to even be seated. I just wish that had been communicated earlier so we could have made an informed decision. I’d gladly come back again, but this experience was disappointing, especially since I had talked the place up and brought my wife for the first time.
I think this place is somewhere people should go, but be sure to ask if they are out of the things you want when you commit to waiting.

This dining definitely has something about it. Going there feels like an epic experience. The food is great and I ate morsel of my breakfast, spinach, broccoli, ham, cheese omelet. Some things they do uniquely like hash browns. I go here when I visit in Biddeford.

We stopped by on a trip with our son to Maine after watching the episode on Somebody Feed Phil featuring this diner. We only had a 15 minute wait and enjoyed the weather and shops while we waited. The place is small but very cozy. The tuna melt was the best thing we had on our entire trip to Maine and that’s saying a lot! The chicken sandwich was delicious but hard to manage. I don’t know how anyone can finish it! My son got the French toast and it was some of the best we’ve had. That crunchy outside was from the heavens. Definitely worth a trip when visiting the Portland area.

A merger of hipster food and old school diner! Big portions, consider splitting sandwiches! Never been disappointed, stop in when in the area for breakfast and lunch.

Good food and atmosphere. Sometimes some of the guests are fragrant but other than that we love coming here.

Anyone who gives this place less than 5 stars has a screw loose. Amazing, delicious, classic diner car.

The food is immaculate and the staff is so kind and understanding. I am Muslim and avoid foods that are cross-contaminated with pork products. They have a smaller kitchen so it’s absolutely understandable, but I realized it after I had ordered that they cook the beef patties and bacon in the same area. When I told the staff that I didn’t feel comfortable, they were happy to make me something different that didn’t cross-contaminate with bacon. I chose their delicious tuna melt. I just want to thank the staff for their kindness and understanding of dietary restrictions. Thank you so much!

Reasonable prices and excellent food. The fries were crisp and cooked well, NOT soggy with grease like so many places. Hamburger was fresh and thier sauce is delicious. Pancakes are made from scratch.
10 out of 10, a must eat place.
Be sure to plan ahead as seating is limited but the wait is well worth it. They have a text update once you are on the wait list that will give you 3 updates so you know when to start heading back and when it's ready. Lots to see and do within a 2 minute walk.

Enjoyed breakfast for lunch at the Palace Diner during a long weekend in Maine. Had the Omelet du jour which was delicious, and the potatoes are so yummy! Service was charming, as were the nearby guests.
