Great takeout, it tastes like Pho, actual Vietnamese Pho! Is it a bit on the pricy side? Yes, what restaurant without a drive through is not this days. Is it actual authentic Pho that will warm you and make you smile on a cold day? Yes. While many times when visiting asian restaurants you are treated to a version of the food adapted to the region you are, Pho Ly’s food actually tastes like the real deal, rich broth, herbs and a portion that is just the right size! Do yourself a favor and grab some soup for dinner!

I honestly had such a great experience here. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel welcome, which I really appreciate. The food was even better than I expected—everything tasted super fresh and full of flavor, and you can tell they actually care about what they’re serving. I tried a couple of different dishes and loved every single one. The atmosphere was really comfortable too, like the kind of place you actually want to stay and hang out for a while. By the time I left, I was full and happy, and already planning what I want to try next time. It’s not often a restaurant makes me want to write a review, but this one definitely earned it!

This place is truly amazing, worthy of each time I return. Maine is all too crowded with Thai restaurants, and Pho Ly stands as a refreshing Vietnamese alternative to the mundane. What can I say besides the authenticity of the food and atmosphere plus the friendliness of the owner and staff makes it a must go!

The woman who bought this recently ran and owned Thanh Thanh 2 in South Portland for 18 years. The phò broth is legit and she takes two days to make it. I have Vietnamese heritage so I’ve sampled phós all over including the only James Beard winning phó restaurant in the US which is Phó 79 in CA. This is pretty darn good Vietnamese fare for Maine. Don’t fret about the price as they are reasonable for the quality. She only uses the freshest ingredients so it’s worth it. Recommend!

Pho prices are getting out of hand especially for such a small portion. Wasn't feeling well so decided to get take out. This is what I got for $18, total rip off! There was no Sriracha and the garnishes were brown. This is my third time giving this place a try, will just make trips into Portland.

My stomach has been upset all day. The pho and friendly atmosphere soothed all that ailed me.
I informed the server of a seafood allergy asking to omit shrimp/seafood from my order. The server brought me a plate with nothing but shrimp on it. I returned my dish, the cook then screamed loudly at the server . The cook picked the shrimp off of my plate and returned the dish to me. I then overviewed my concerns as well as my seafood allergy and that I couldn’t eat the dish. The server then brought me a new dish that had nothing but seafood in it . I was charged full price for a meal I couldn’t even eat. Needless to say I won’t be back.

I love this place! You have to get the pho, thats their best dish! Everyone is so friendly, prices are great, and portions are large. They are always fast and the broth tastes great without having to add in other sauces. I could honestly drink just the broth! My husband and I love this place and now eat food from here a couple times a month

Stopped in for a warm bowl of pho yesterday, when it was 17° and windy outside. It was the perfect lunch. The broth was delicious, fragrant, and well balanced. The meat was tender and not overly fatty. We also got some fried gyoza and Thai iced teas, both were awesome. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and the vibe inside the restaurant was cozy as can be. We will definitely be coming back.

They are set up on Doordash. However, when my driver arrived to pick up the order, they refused to release it to the driver citing not being paid. I called Doordash who confirmed the item was paid for and reached out to the business owner themselves to explain. The business still refuses to release the food I was paid for. Will not try this restaurant again.
