I've been coming here for 40 years always get my pizza made in the old oven. Today the cashier stood there and basically argued with two sets not just one of customers on how there is no difference between the old oven and the new conveyor style oven. There is a difference in both taste and texture. Because of this she lost the restaurant a good size sale.

Never had a bad experience eating from pizza by Alex. I love that they have a unique style and flavor. You can get a (insert town) house of pizza anywhere and they all basically taste and look the same. There is only one Pizza by Alex! I always get it done with the old oven but either one you can't go wrong. I'm sure in 50 years they will be In the same spot, serving the same bomb pizza they always have.

I asked for my pizza to be cooked in the old oven and it didn’t taste like it had been. Pepperonis were thicker and not crispy like the other times. Why change a great thing???

Pizza by Alex is an old style Greek/American pizza joint conveniently located a short drive from Old Orchard Beach. Menu included classic pies in 10 inch and family sizes with classic meat and veggi toppings. I the Greek style pie and was pleased to receive it loaded with spinach and feta. My friends ordered meat toppings and were similarly impressed. Meals are ordered at the counter for eat in or take out. Drinks are bottled soda or coffee (but fountain drinks are available in the dining room). The dining room was spacious with plenty of room between the round tables and 4 chairs around each. Focal point was the massive oven manned by three bakers who produced the beautifully browned pies. Plan on about $20 per person here. You will be rewarded with outstanding pizza in a relaxed setting with a real yesteryear vibe.

Just your basic fast track conveyer oven Greek pizza, other than ingredients being fresh nothing else stood out for me, the 70s feel decor was pretty cool though
