Valerie’s Scratch Kitchen

Our expectations were exceeded once again at Valerie's Scratch Kitchen in Biddeford, Maine, where we encountered a warm atmosphere and friendly staff. The restaurant's ambiance and welcoming host, a young man with excellent customer service skills, made a great first impression. The menu offered a delightful balance of breakfast and lunch options, featuring classic comfort food staples. We ordered a Bloody Mary, Budweiser, homemade corned beef hash, Biscuits and Gravy, and Eggs Benedict Blackstone. Our meals were delicious and generously portioned. The homemade corned beef hash was also nicely done. Overall, our dining experience was pleasant. The atmosphere was comfortable, the service was friendly and attentive, Adriana was fantastic, and the pricing was reasonable for the quality offered. If you have not tried Valerie's Scratch Kitchen yet, you are missing out on a gem of a place.

Valerie’s was very accommodating for our large party of 18, which included our 7 little kids.
The server was very attentive and friendly.
Food was great- tasty, no complaints at all.
The atmosphere was nice-looking and clean.
We will definitely come back.

Wonderful friendly staff and delicious food!!!

First time eating here was this morning and the food was delicious, came timely and perfect portions. I had the Monte Cristo , also a first for me, I'm an Irish Benny girl but I was daring and wanted to try something new. Oh Em Gee. Yum. Two thumbs up!!!! Our waitress, Delaney, was delightful, attentive and overall fabulous. Will absolutely go back.

GREAT lunch place! They also have breakfast all day. Clean, tasty and the staff is fantastic. Varied menu, the sandwiches were good and very stuffed!

We wanted to love VSC but, unfortunately, we didn’t, however, we understand that everyone’s tastes and expectations are different. The good first. Staff was great start to finish. It seemed clean. The home fries and hash were good. Cute low key breakfast atmosphere. What could improve—the food. It not often I have bacon I don’t like. Honestly, can’t remember it happening because I adore bacon. I ate one bite. The French toast was fine, nothing special either way. Disappointing to not even have the whipped butter on it to melt while it’s hot, rather, cold butter from the table that won’t melt. Eggs meh. Quesadilla big meh. Eggs, whatever. Always love a toast but jam/jelly should be on the table always, no a special request. We always give places two times so we may try a different day and hope it was just an off day. But we wish VSK the best because it’s clear they work hard.

The staff was very nice and the restaurant itself was also very nice. Very down home. Was seriously not worth what we were charged. It was my first visit there and it was very disappointing. Our food was pretty much cold and the pancakes we had were like having a mouthful of paste when we ate them. Such a letdown from what they originally were at all day breakfast.
