Best food I've had in my life. Flew up for the eclipse. Had dinner and brunch and hand to God I think the lower star reviews are liars.

Was an okay experience. Love the resteraunt and the theme, but the food order wasn't followed(asked for extra veggies and got almost none). The pasta was very watery and had zero flavor.

What a great meal. We got there before 5pm on a Saturday. We were seated immediately and our drink order was taken. We ordered fried zucchini for an appetizer. Another round of drinks. We got the pot roast, steak tips and ribs for dinner. I had brussel sprouts as my vegetable. By the time dinner was fun, we were all completely stuffed. Headed back to the house in time to enjoy the rest of the evening.

Wow. I can see why this establishment has been so successful for so long. The food was amazing! I didn't know a Pot Roast sandwich could be so good... The seafood chowder was delicious and my wife's fried clams were delightful.

Really a fun tavern atmosphere that’s not so loud that you can’t hear your table mates. Fully stocked bar - can’t go wrong. Highly recommend. Fish & Chips, Shepherds Pie crepe, sesame crusted Ahi tuna steak were all excellent.Parking: Enough parking for all the tables but if there’s a wait, you might have a hard time finding parking.

Stopped in for brunch on the way back to ME from Ice Castles in NH. The parking lot was packed but the restaurant is bigger inside than you might think. We were seated right away. The hostess and wait staff (several stopped by our table) were friendly. My coffee cup never went dry. The Eggs Florentine and Huevos Rancheros were both delicious and plentiful. I was incredibly jealous when I saw someone's creme brulee french toast come out. It turned numerous heads - we can leave it at that! Wow. I was pleasantly surprised by the prices, to be honest. Very positive experience and I will be back.

Quality food, varied menu, gluten free options. The best fried clams and oysters I've ever had when available. Best Sunday brunch in area! Staff is great!!!

During this most recent visit, the food was okay. Our waitress wasn't very friendly. We were seated in the dining area to the right, which was really cold and noisy. We dined here one other time, and our experience was better. Maybe it was just an off night.

I stopped in here after a hike via a recommendation from locals. I sat at the bar, which was well stocked, friendly and welcoming. On the server's recommendation, I tried the salad with roasted chicken and it was great. Fresh veggies, dressing on the side, excellent chicken and a large portion. Everything the folks around me had looked good also. Pretty standard tavern fare, and they've got a few specials every day. I can't speak to the table service, since I sat at the bar. The space itself is very old -time tavern. Dark wood, small tables, cozy bar. Easy parking. Around $25-$30 for a cocktail and entree salad, with tip. I'd recommend it if you are passing thru or local.

I rated a 3 for the experience based solely on the fact that it's a basic "pub" style restaurant, and nothing out of the ordinary in that aspect. They have a bar with a few TV's, and music playing over them. The bar seats about 8 people, where you can eat, and also a bunch of tables. They have 8 beers on tap, with some local choices. The food is excellent. I love seafood, and I pretty much order the teriyaki glazed salmon with real mashed potatoes. They also offer baked and fries. I've been here many times with friends and family, and we all come back for more, for a laid back, casual dining experience.

We went to the Black Horse to celebrate a birthday after the Bridgton Christmas parade on Saturday night. The food was excellent and the service (Reagan and others) was exceptional! Each of our meals were perfect- the lightly fried oysters and onion strings were just that - lightly fried, delicious! The Blueberry salad with salmon was absolutely fantastic - blueberry vinagrette was perfect, salmon was grilled just right. The b-day girl had the Grecian chicken whihc was also cooked and seasoned exceptionally well. We were all very pleased with our meals. The pomegranate margarita was heavenly as was the pear rosemary martini!Parking: We got there early and there were only 3 spaces left. Be careful - the parking lot is one way in and one way out. Arrows on pavement indicate that the first drive coming from downtown is actually the exit (small sign) We did it wrong.
