We didn't get to enjoy the food because we were too late in the season but the menu looked amazing! The shop was fantastic and we got some great souvenirs. Brooke took tremendous pride in her work and could not have been more friendly and accommodating. This is a 'must see' area to stop to chat with amazing locals.

We were staying at the Hotel Pemaquid, a two-min walk away, and booked for the 9AM ferry to Monhegan Island, so breakfast at the Sea Gull at 7:30AM was pretty much our only option if we wanted to be in New Harbor by 8:15. I gave it a three to average out my experience and my wife's. I had a wonderful, fresh omelet with lots of fresh vegetables along with the ham & cheese, served with excellent toast and some home-fries. A home run. My wife ordered oatmeal with fresh blueberries and got a large, well-presented glutinous mass of congealed oatmeal presented with what certainly, despite protestations of innocence on the part of the staff, looked like thawed frozen blueberries. I mean really gooey, hard to gouge out a spoonful level of glutinous oatmeal, It appeared to be high-quality steel-cut oatmeal, but it also appeared to maybe have been cooked the night before. Service was excellent, and they got us in and out on a tight schedule as promised, but with one great dish and one almost inedible one, it's hard to give a good review for this experience. One immense positive if you are willing to risk the inconsistent food, is that this was one of the most spectacular settings for a restaurant that I can recall. Maybe a min away from the Pemaquid Point lighthouse, the dining area offered other-worldly views of the Maine seacoast.

We had dinner last night to the beautiful singing voice and guitar playing of Jud Caswell at the SeaGull.
What a perfect night. I just wanted to hug everyone there before we left. The scallops and mussels, and the house salad, were all scrumptious. The wait staff were entirely gracious and Courtney was delightful as a person, so kind and thorough.
The whole room was singing for some of the songs, in a gentle way, led by Jud's expert performance. There are rare performers in the world these days, it seems, who are true troubadours: with the musical knowledge, proficiency, grace, community connection and care - who draw people and places into a kind of shared heart space together, just by playing their music sensitively and generously, tuning into the crowd.
The SeaGull is right on the ocean, with binoculars along the window ledges. A glorious location. Excellent food. So grateful.

Really good blueberry muffin, if you get them at the restaurant, make sure you get them on the grill - 10/10 service from the young guy waiting for us.
