Disappointed in the food at my most recent visit to 555. We’ve always had great tasting food and good menu options, but not our most recent visit. With only 6 dinner options, including a lobster roll and a duck flatbread pizza, there wasn’t much to choose from. Did not like the duck that my wife got, and the steak frites that I got were way below expectations for a $35 meal. The fries were shoe string size which was unexpected and was served with aioli and ketchup on the side along with the steak on the side cooked medium well. If I wanted McDonald fries with a $10 steak, I could’ve stayed home. I just feel like my money was wasted on this night out with friends. The service was great and the table was provided a round of champagne for my wife’s birthday which was a nice gesture. Will lean towards noble or ram and bull for my next dinner out or go to Sicilian table for the same price. 555 must do better with the menu going forward or risk losing more business.

Update: I’m updating this review from 2 to 4 stars as a result of the manager refunding my previous bill. There was some confusion on which receipt to refund so I had to call after a few weeks because I hadnt gotten the credit. The manager “David” if I recall, was very nice and completed the refund and stated changes were being made to the kitchen to improve. Overall I’m satisfied with the resolution and will come back to try out the new kitchen staff.

Nice restaurant. Quiet and on the upscale side of things. Food was good and drinks were good. The only issue we had is that we had to send our food back due to it not being cooked to order like we requested. It was taken care of very quickly and they made an amends for the mishap which we said not to make a deal about it. We appreciated the staff in taking care of us so quickly and everything was great after everything was said and done.

We ate 2 nights in a row there while on a mini vacation…. We loved everything. Great atmosphere, beautiful decor, great drinks (try the fall special McIntosh Old Fashioned), friendly staff and amazing food. They have a raw bar Wednesday/Thursday and we had the Lobster escargot and it was just amazing. And the mussels are great as well. Hope to be able to visit sometime again.

Updated after recent visit:
Ok food. Soup was cool. Caesar salad was way over dressed. Our expectations were too high based on visits in previous years.
Might not return.

Previous year review:
Excellent food with lots of flavors. Cooked and presented very well. New setting. Good service. Good cocktails. Decent wine choices. Prices a bit high.

I have never written a negative review in my entire life…However, my recent experience with 555 N. was lacking. This was my favorite spot since they reopened and we made it a point to come back multiple times a year. My husband booked a birthday dinner with friends in advance. From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were an inconvenience. We were consistently begging for the bare minimum. Then we were given our meals (which were ice cold) and our server never once checked on us to ask how it was or if anyone needed anything. I pray that this was a one time bad experience.

I am not sure what happened with our experience last night. My husband booked a table with friends for my Birthday dinner. We spent $800 before tip to receive ice cold food and the worst service we have ever experienced in a fine dining establishment. This was the polar opposite of our most recent dinner here. Very disappointed and will not be back. It used to be my favorite restaurant in the area….

Second visit in one month yesterday to this restaurant. Would frequent it regularly before it was remodeled and got a new owner. Very dismal menu, in the food department wants to be something it is not. Disappointing.....

Honestly, not that great. The other diners were pretentious and difficult to be around (I could have gone my whole life without hearing from the man with three fireplaces in one house). The atmosphere is cold. The food was mid with tiny portions. This is definitely a place that wants you to order your own bread, app, etc to make it a meal. At $150 for two people with one drink each and one take home dessert, that felt very not worth it to me, personally. Likely, not the target clientele if they cater to out of town guests. Service staff were very personable and did a wonderful job, I have no complaints at all about them. Townies beware.

A valiant attempt at a premium offering but it falls short. The Wine Spectator wine list is riddled with mistakes, cliche wines, and certain “vintages” that are obviously well past their prime, even to a novice.

Wow! The meal my group enjoyed here was perfection. The staff could not have been more attentive and accommodating. The food was delicious! The wines a perfect compliment to the meal. Can't recommend more highly!!!

Huge disappointment!
Tuna crudo was 99% humus with a few bits of tuna hiding in the mush. The kitchen was prioritizing a group from connoisseur. Would have ordered another drink if the waiter scanned the tables and asked. And the strip steak came with 3 head and cold onion rings.
Don’t bother, especially since it feels like you’re in a Marriott hotel!

This is the second restaurant in Brunswick we had service issues.
Maybe they are short staffed? We waited 10 minutes to get our table even though we were on time and had a reservation.
We waited 10 minutes for water, nearly 30 minutes for drinks and over an hour for our meals. The waiter was nice, but after taking our order he disappeared until we were done. The food was good, but pricey for what you get.

Made a reservation for 6:45, arrived a few minutes early and was seated... then we waited, and waited... it was over 20 minutes before anyone acknowledged us, and He said he would get someone to take care of us. We waited another 10 minutes without anyone taking a drink order or bringing water. A 30 minute wait without being acknowledge or attended to is unacceptable. The place was only about half full at the time, can only imagine how long you would wait if they were busy.

My husband and I came here based on the good reviews and recommendations from locals but were quite disappointed. First, we tried to order the goat cheese fritters which were apparently out and it was only 6;30 on a Sunday night. The food also took an incredibly long time to come out, including my husband’s simple greens salad. When the food did finally come out, it was let down. My husband had the knuckle sandwich which he described as “meh”. I asked for my salad with no cheese but apparently they took that as no crostini as well because all I got were leaves and dressing on the side. A pretty pricey meal which was not worth it at all and we won’t be back.

We could not have enjoyed ourselves more. Sumptuous food. Beautiful surroundings. Welcoming staff – particularly Jillian, who was also deeply knowledgeable about the menu and made us feel special. We’ll hurry back. Thank you!
