My partner and I came here for breakfast as the hotel doesn't have hot breakfast anymore. It was busy but we didn't wait too long. We ere offered drinks while we waited. Food was amazing and a great value. Would go there a million times again. The owner was in the restaurant.

This place is a hidden gem. It's in a converted diner car, right in Route 1 north in Brunswick (just before Bowdoin College). They seem to have been in business for several decades and it's easy to see why. Lots of selections, substantial portions, and good quality. We ordered eggs benedict with crab meat (very good), and stuffed french toast with wild blueberries (excellent).
Service was friendly and very good. Had to wait a few minutes for a booth, even at mid morning on a week day.
Parking seems adequate.
We'll definitely make a return trip!

Very cool diner. Awesome menu. We had the Santana, which is a turkey club and that's available with three pieces of bread or two. It had plenty of turkey, very tasty bacon and that was a good sandwich. I had the Elvis which is a steak dip Panini sandwich. That was very tasty.and we also had chicken and waffles with hot honey. And that was very good. The diner has cocktails and prosecco available. The employees were very interesting and friendly. Food came out quickly. All in all it was a great experience.

The classic dinner. Amazing food with big portions. The owner Cassidy is a sweetheart who watches out and dotes on my 90 yr old dad.

Had breakfast/ brunch here on Monday. We got a table as soon as we walked and were greeted by a lovely waitress who's service was great. The atmosphere was cute and folksy but a little chilly. In fairness it was a pretty cold day and we were seated by the door. The food left a bit to be desired. The fries and home fries were barely room temperature and the breakfast sandwich I ordered was so so. The yakety yak I think it was called was supposed to be on sourdough but it seemed more like white bread that wasn't really toasted. The amount of caramelized onions was like they ran out half way through making the sandwich and the bacon was soggy and pretty scant too. It was pretty expensive for not having had any alcohol and one of us got basic chicken fingers and fries. The waitress was very sweet and friendly but I don't think we'll be back.

This place is a gem! How have I never come in here? Cozy, charming, clean. The staff very friendly and attentive. My and my two kids sat at the counter. I had the best brunch bloody ever, crab cake Benny, and coffee. Kids had pancakes. We played music on their legit Wurlitzer juke box. What a place!

Service was horrible. Waited a long time for the orders to be taken even after trying to wave down waitstaff who were more interested in talking with other diners. Slow slow slow. Actually beyond slow. I have seen dead people move quicker. Was promised a refill on my coffee and never came back around to fill it. Asked when finished with the overcooked meal if I wanted more. No thanks. Had the Billy Joel and the shaved steak was so crispy it was almost inedible. The home fries were teeny tiny cubes of potato that were deep fried to over crispness. Gave a good cleaning to my teeth but otherwise not very flavorful. The bread they passed for toast was soggy with butter but neglecting that toasted flavor that actual toast has. Will not be back nor do I recommend.

Friends who return to Maine on a twice-yearly basis swear that the Brunswick Diner serves the best breakfast in the area, and we should experience the food and the 1950s true diner atmosphere. We came, we experienced, and we are not in agreement. Yes, the restaurant is truly a mid-20th century iconic dining car complete with restored and working tabletop jukeboxes. A nice touch. The Marilyn Monroe poster behind the counter hints at the glamour of those times. And then there's the food. The Brunswick Diner offers a wide and various breakfast menu, priced at mid-Maine market rates for their meals. On the mid-week day of our visit, patronage at the counter was low while there was turnover in the booths, and meals arrived in a timely manner. Yet, the meals that arrived in a timely manner were just average, at best. The corned beef has in the Frank Sinatra was out of a can; other diner kitchens prepare their own from scratch. It was dry and overcooked while the poached eggs that were ordered soft arrived with the yolks well set. Similarly, the eggs that my wife ordered also were overcooked leaving us to wonder about whether the kitchen staff was having an "off day," or whether these problems were systemic. In summary: nostalgic dining-car experience with all the trappings of the mid-20th century; food preparation was only on the low side of average, as our meals were not cooked as ordered.
Classic diner experience. Tight, bustling, noisy and good energy. Large portions, wide menu offerings, including hooch for Bloody Mary's, etc.
