This place is amazing, best seafood in the area. The service is outstanding, there is an exceptional view of the water. Definitely worth a trip to come try!!

Hands down the worst seafood/clam chowder I have ever had. The store itself and the staff were great, but do not get the chowder. It is just buttery-water soup with some seafood. The fresh seafood looks amazing, but I am never eating the chowder here again.

The food was fresh and tasted amazing! It’s a great clam shack with all fresh seafood and the burgers and fries are on point. The only small disappointment was that there’s no restroom. But that only thing is not a good enough reason to pass this place by. Best clam chowder or if you are a native (Chowdah) I have ever had ?Dietary restrictions: There was only a couple gluten free options.Parking: Parking could get tight during summer but there was plenty.
Great food and customer service prices are fair and specials are awesome. Very quick service and selection is convenient

Me and friends ended up here in search of Live lobsters and it was totally worth.The price is decent with a good seating availability, the lobsters were really good.I definitely recommend this place as well for lobsters.

Such delicious fresh live lobster and a fascinating trading post, including lobster traps hanging on outside walls. Such ambiance!! Superb service also. What a neat gem!
This place was a pleasant surprise when my boyfriend and I were hunting for places open on Labor Day. They had a 2 lobster rolls for $45 deal that day and they were 10/10. The atmosphere is very relaxed and charming, with outdoor seating with views of the cove. We’ll definitely be coming back here the next time we’re in Maine!

I'd go 2.5 if I could. I remember this being better prior years. Lobster rolls were meh and pricey. The fried clams were delicious and pricey.

I hate to write this. Because I have LOVED Gurnet Trading and have talked people's ears off about it FOR YEARS.But I went the other day and, wow. No bueno. I popped in for a quick, little bite. Two cups of chowder and a slice of pie. It took FORTY MINUTES to get two cups of already-in-the-pot chowder and a pre-made slice of pie to me. That's unacceptable anywhere. I can't swear to this, but it also seemed like the portions were smaller than the last time I stopped by. Maybe not. But it sure seemed that way.Then I learned something from one of the staff. Apparently Gurnet has new owners. Now, I'm excited that someone wants to keep the place going. But they seem very, very off their game, to the point that I'm not super interested in returning for far-too-long service, not-inexpensive prices, and small portions.I'm not mad - I want Gurnet Trading to do well. But the new owners (if that's an accurate update that was shared with me) need to get the place back on track.
