If you aren't willing to turn down the volume or stop the music for a bit to accommodate an autistic (or otherwise neurodivergent) would-be guest, just say that. Don't be dishonest and say "it's not possible"
I decided to check this place out on a whim. I remember Little Dog but this is a big improvement. Staff is skilled and friendly. I will be back

Seriously rude and indifferent wait staff, undercooked pastry. Space is nice and coffee was okay.

Fantastic food, drinks, and service.
Very small portion of delicate squash for $10.00, and I have a small appetite! Prices are high

Great cocktails. Limited menu but food is good. A little loud if you want to talk.

The place looks great. Very interesting. We stopped by for coffee and it was busy. There was one person taking orders and working the coffee, so it made for a slower pace. There was someone in the back working on sandwiches, maybe we stopped at a busy time. I ordered my triple espresso, and my wife wanted a regular drip. Once we got our coffee we sat outside, it was a great atmosphere. My espresso was great, but my wife’s coffee was not hot, and she did not like that, but did not want me to go switch it.

We came from out of town and I found this place on Google.
I just want to preface my review with a little info, I am an executive chef and my wife is a bartender.
THIS IS THE BEST RESTAURANT IVE EATEN AT IN 2024.

It's too expensive. I spent $21 on a glass of wine and a bowl of popcorn.
Cocktails are absolutely amazing! Such a nice spot! I would highly recommend it!

The Abbey presents itself as a refined and elegant café, where attention to detail is evident from the moment you step in. The ambiance is clean, organized, and distinctly upscale, with an inviting outdoor space on the front sidewalk. The tables, shaded by parasols, offer a delightful vantage point to admire the Maine Street while savoring a meticulously prepared coffee.
The beverages crafted by the skilled baristas reflect a level of professionalism that is commendable. The espresso, while expertly made, leaned towards a more acidic profile, prompting me to balance it with a touch of water. The cortado, however, was a standout, hitting the right notes of richness and balance. The masala chai was a revelation—perfectly spiced and deeply satisfying. As for the hot chocolate, it was enjoyable but carried a slight aftertaste reminiscent of cocoa mix, which detracted from its authenticity.
The breakfast offerings were solid, with the breakfast sandwich providing a good start to the day. The caçoila, generously stuffed, fell just short of delivering the robust Portuguese flavor I anticipated, leaving me longing for a more authentic experience.
Overall, The Abbey offers a polished and pleasant experience with a few minor points that could elevate it to a truly exceptional café.

Creative tasty cocktails & food in a cool welcoming vibe! There's always something delicious on the seasonal menu.
Love, love, love that they're a coffee shop in the morning, & a cool bar in the evening. Service is attentive & friendly. Fantastic addition to downtown Brunswick!
This week, we enjoyed:
1. Pulled pork w/ a saffron spread felt like a nod to Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches.
2. Summer salad w/ veggies shaved into delicate ribbons & lightly dressed. The culinary creativity is put into intentional vegetarian options, where the focus isn't just on the carnivores.
3. Deviled eggs are always a winner. This one had pickle seasoning.
4. Pulled chicken hand pie w/ tzatziki.
5. Tuna crudo w/ a black garlic sauce gives the perfect flavor that's not overpowering.
6. Harissa wings w/ a bleu cheese remoulade
Vegetarian options: The culinary creativity is put into intentional vegetarian options, where the focus isn't just on the carnivores.
Parking: Large free public lot behind the building always has parking spaces. Direct access to The Abbey.
Kid-friendliness: The large dining room is kid-friendly, so parents can enjoy a night out.
