This review is different from the others because, "The Great Impasta", in my experience, was NOT GREAT in any way! They never responded and never prepared food for our event! It was our Son's 40th birthday so my husband & I wanted to host a lunch for 12 people on October 6th. The only thing our Son asked for was TGI seafood lasagna. So, I first sent TGI a message via their website alerting them to our planned lunch date along with my name and phone number. I never got a response but that didn't really concern me. I knew that, according to their website, I had notified them in plenty of time. So, a week and a half before my occasion, I called the restaurant to place my order. Keeping in mind that the staff is busy during lunch and dinner hours, I made sure I called around 3pm in effort to call at a convenience and non-busy time. The female that answered the phone told me that I was calling "too far ahead" of my event and asked if I would call back the next week to place my order! Really??? One and a half week ahead was too early to place my order??? Ok. It was starting to feel like I've never tried so hard to give a business my money. So on Thursday Oct. 3rd I called TGI around 11:15 am to place the order. There was no answer and the message said the machine was full so I could not leave a message. I assumed that I misdialed and tried again later that afternoon around 3pm. Again, no answer, not able to leave a message. So, I went on TGI website again, sending them an email with my urgent request. Please call me or respond to my email. But, they did not. On Friday Oct. 4th my Mother drove to the restaurant in hopes that she could find out what the issue was. A sign on the door just said "closed" but a man opened the door and asked if she was there to pick up an order. She explained that I had been trying for over a week to place a catering take out order but that NO ONE HAS RESPONDED! The man assured her that the owner would call me but he never did. So... that's why I say The Great Impasta is NOT GREAT AT ALL.
We will forever be grateful to DaVinci's in Lewiston!!! Not only did they answer their phone, their staff spent a good amount of time on the phone with me as I tried to put together a new menu of food choices for our guests. DaVinci's staff helped to reassure me and calm my stress over TGI "fail". I drove to Lewiston Saturday Oct. 5th, picked up my sizeable order, (with ease) the staff carried it out to my vehicle for me and their food was outstanding! Don't put your hopes on The Great Impasta to provide food for your catering event. They certainly didn't show me that they wanted my business even though I put forth all the effort to do so.

Door is locked at about 2:30, thanks!
Pathetic service. Poor table assignment management and the front desk had very bad attitude. Waited for close to an hour, we were overlooked and at least 3 parties were seated ahead of us! Wouldn’t recommend!

Random closures with no notice to the public beyond a sign on the door. Not helpful when you’ve driven 30+ minutes to get there!
My family has been coming here for decades! We absolutely love the great food, service, as well as, the lovely & cozy atmosphere!

We had a nice meal in the middle of the afternoon. Generous helpings. The side salad was too good to be called a side.

Great italian food. Small restaurant, big on flavor and service. With only a dozen or so tables visit during peak hours only when you have time. Tirn over is quick. Off peak hours no issues. Parking at site is only 6 spaces with a few questionable others. Park elsewhere and walk, it's good for you. Garlic dough knots are a must if they have them. Marinara red gravy is fantastic.

We hit this place up just as the lunch rush had started to leave. So good timing on our part.
The food was superb. Garlic knots soft, garlicky and fresh. Lasagna perfect portion and amazingly flavorful.
Service was top notch from Oliva from start to finish.
I hit this place up because me and a friend had happen to walk by after leaving the Flea Market on Saturday and I get hit with garlic coming out of the exhaust vents. I'm glad my nose said yes. It made my belly truly happy today.
Thank you so much for everything!

We were on the list and still waited 40 minutes. The wait person was odd, out of sync with the vibe. Food was decent, but not spectacular.
26 years ago we were engaged at The Great Impasta. For our anniversary my husband called the restaurant twice and stopped in on his way home from work to request a certain table. They don't take reservations but said they'd do their best for special occasions. Which they did not! We didn't get our table. The decorations were dusty with dusty webs. We had to ask twice for garlic knots, which were disappointing. Soggy, swimming in butter with no garlic. Another table with 4 people were seated after us and served first. The coffee was not fresh. The waitress said she'd time out our entrees, then forgot to put in our order. The bruschetta was soggy and looked thrown on the plate. My husband's veal was tough and his pasta was dry without the garlic butter sauce. My carbonara was overcooked, slimy, boxed angel hair, not thin spaghetti as described on the menu. It was a gloppy, flavorless, greasy, split sauce, with uncooked flour, and bits of burnt prosciutto. No offer to even see the dessert menu. So, no, they don't try, even for special occasions. No care! Never again! Not worth the money or your time. So disappointing!

We often stop in Brunswick on our way to Damariscotta, Maine and one of the reasons is to be able to go to the great Impasta restaurant. My husband had the mussels with pasta and they are the best that we have ever had.
I was not particularly hungry so I was able to get half a sandwich which was delicious and so reasonably priced. If you are lucky enough to live in the area, it’s a great choice for comfortable place with delicious food at reasonable prices.
