Called ahead and had a 20 min wait or so when we got there, not bad considering how crowded they were. The hostess was very friendly and helpful. Our server was Anna, and she was wonderful. The food was descent. My boyfriend wasn't a big fan of the food but my salad and carbonara were delicious.

First and foremost the service was absolutely wonderful and the server was extremely pleasant. Unfortunately the food was definitely not what I expected. The scallops weren't seared at all they were really chewy and over done. The pasta was dry and sticky and we tried asking for extra sauce but it didn't help. We were so excited to try this place out because we saw good reviews but we will definitely not be going back. I realize now maybe some of the reviews were from their friends because I did notice real reviews of people with similar experiences to mine. Again service was great but the food was definitely not worth the prices.

Small local restaurant with loyal following. The food and location were very good but the service was the best!Parking: Room for about 12 cars + -.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp up to the door with both booths and tables.

Went out with family to dinner never had been before, what a terrible experience. We arrived with reservations at 445pm and didn’t leave until 645. Very slow for food. The waitress was not friendly at all. She seemed she didn’t want to be there. Our meals came out with items missing which we didn’t make fuss waited for her to return to mention. We had to ask for the check to be split we were never asked. Then when leaving we wrote a note on the receipt that we were very disappointed in the experience. Another waitress from this restaurant found my sister’s Instagram page and sent a message that was rude and uncalled for.Very inappropriate unprofessional behavior.Do not recommend for a great dinner experience!

A very nice neighborhood Italian restaurant with amazing food. Service was a bit scattered, but incredibly friendly. The food was amazing, but everything was brought out at the same time. Tough to enjoy a hot meal when it’s only warm by the time you get to it. Never got my salad either. No water refill and never even asked if I wanted more wine. Not sure where the problem is and I’m not bashing, just hoping it’s a learning experience. It wasn’t the cheapest lesson either.

Had the peacatore, sauce was grainy and broken, 1 scallop, 4 mussels, 1 tiny shrimp, invisible clams, I think.?? Food lacked flavor, or Italian seasoning. Seafood lasagna was cold in the middle, lacked any Italian seasoning or flavor. Maybe they were having an off day. Service was good. Unsure if we will return. I would not recommend this spot, based on today's meals.

Parking: You have to drive around the block and look for Street parking or parking behind the restaurant if their small lot is full.

Had the pasta with shrimp. Dish was under seasoned and pasta was overcooked but not too bad

The Great Impasta is a quaint little place just as you get to the Main Street block of buildings when coming from Topsham. It looks to have a nice outdoor patio during the summer. My group went on a Wed night, and I was surprised at how busy it was, however we got right in due to the fact that I called in the morning to put our names on the wait list. They only take reservations ahead of time for parties of 6 or more. The friendly staff was very good at keeping customers moving, but we did not feel rushed. Parking is limited on the side of the restaurant, but there are some spots in the back. The food was good, but they didn't make their own pasta. The garlic knots, though, are to die for!!! Large servings allow you to get 2 meals out of your evening. They also seemed to have a busy door dash/takeout clientele.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free products were on the menuWheelchair accessibility: There were no steps to get into or around the restaurant, but seating is somewhat tight to navigate around.

Called in name and what time we would be there, waste of a call, it doesn't matter, we waited 40 minutes. Went there and ordered Shrimp Scampi in oil & garlic sauce, I received shrimp scampi in water & garlic, couldn't even eat it, totally disgusting after a while waitress came over an asked if we wanted a box to go, I told her no and why, my wife added she would take it, the waitress came back and I said I didn't want it, she left came back with a little attitude and said gave you 40% off, I paid the bill and gave waitress 30% tip of what the bill would have been without the discount. So waitress should have no complaints.I won't go back after hearing waitress and cooks conversations.Shame on them.

Have eaten here many times before, but this will be our last time. Garlic knots were rock solid on the outside, and the dough was tough in the middle. The bolognese tasted very off, and was extremely watery. There was no presentation, it was just a copious amount of off-tasting meaty sauce on top of dry, bland, tough pasta. This is really upsetting because I’ve never had a bad meal at the Great Impasta. Every other meal, whether it’s lunch or dinner, has been nothing short of excellent. But this one, was terrible. It’s even more upsetting because I was not expecting this low-quality.On the flip side, the food came out in pretty good time. I guess there’s some good in that.
