The bagel and cream cheese assortment is great. Amazing Greek salad. Horrible location, the previous space was bigger. The new Main Street location is awful. There is no room to even wait for the bagels. IF you decide to sit down you end up being crowded by the line waiting to order. Parking was easier at the previous location as well. Please move somewhere better! 🥰
We had breakfast there with our family. There were six of us. Two of us had coffee which we mixed 1/2 Dark Harbor and 1/2 French Roast which we enjoyed with some almond milk. Our order: Grandchildren shared a Salt Bagel toasted, withGarlic Herb cream cheese Mini Muffin, The adults (who keep to a vegan diet) got: Medium Iced A "Hummus and all the Veggies" on a toasted Sesame Bagel A "Hummus and all the Veggies" on a toasted While Wheat with Italian Seasonings Bagel which had to be remade because it got cut in the kitchen with a knife that left a cream cheese smear on the sandwich. Toasted Rye (was actually pumpernickle) Bagel with hummus, Sprouts, Pickled Red Onion Toasted Whole Wheat Italian Seasonings Bagel with Tofutti (R), Tomato, Red Onion, and Sprouts The bagels are smaller and harder than New York bagels. This might be a Maine style thing. They were tasty despite being small. I was hungry so I had two, which I generally don't do. It's a popular and busy place. They ran out of salt bagels before I could order one. The grandchildren split the last one with an order placed at 8:30am. It's definitely a "get there early if you want a wider selection kind of place." I would go back again but would be very careful to make sure they cleaned their knife before cutting the bagel sanwhich to assure I wasn'tgetting unwanted dairy in my food. Having to have 2 orders remade due to sloppy kitchen practices is not reassuring that they respect their customers. Updated from previous review on 2025-08-15
Also offered tofutti cream cheese
Camden used to LOVE bagel but ever since they moved it’s been an absolute disaster. They run out of bagels and let people stand in line for 30+ mins without telling anyone they are out. This has happened twice now. The bagels are hard and tasteless ever since they moved. The place is TINY and uninviting because it is so cramped with the line out the door. They want 60 extra cents for pickles that used to come on a lot of their sandwiches for free.
Like I said everyone used to love coming to bagel, the people are nice the food was good but who ever thought to move really destroyed the business.

Yummy food and great location downtown, but parking is difficult to find especially in peak season.

It’s almost impossible to find a decent bagel in Maine. These guys nail it!! And tbh why don’t skimp on the cream cheese. So glad they have a new location on Main st.

Today was my first time in! I was kindly greeted and rung up for a breakfast sandwich and hot coffee, which were priced fairly. The toasted onion bagel was fresh, aromatic, and soft…the southwestern is delicious, albeit a bit greasy for conscious dieters. The hot coffee was okay (Zoot’s the place to go), but Bagel Café’s specialty is in the name!

Had the veggie bagel which comes with a bagel and hummus, tomato, onions, and lettuce. Had a side of hashbrowns which were great
I've gone here every weekend for nearly two years. It's become physiological on my Maslow's hierarchy of needs. I've spent well over $200 over my time there and I don't regret a cent of it.

Fresh bagels made daily on site, generous cream cheese spread--what could be better? I had the bagel and lox, and my guy had the breakfast egg and sausage sandwich. We both chose sesame bagels, and we both had coffee. The place is lively and spacious, with counter folks who seemed to enjoy their jobs, and were friendly and quick to make our sandwiches, even though they were quite busy. All this, and dog-friendly too!

They were out of hummus when they visited but made me a veggie stuffed Tofutti cream cheese everything bagel. It was pretty empty and took a long time to make because they were backed up. Thankful for that option but they should offer vegan protein, too, like tofu or a vegan deli meat.
