Shrimp Dumplings and Cucumber Salad
House-made gulf shrimp dumplings pan-crisped over cucumber noodle salad with sweet-sour soy and sesame splash.
Mussels for Jen
Gluten-free. Local rope-grown mussels steamed with chablis and grilled wild mushrooms finished with a creamy roast garlic puddle.
The Kraken
Crisp fried calamari with red onions, balsamic, and parmesan.
Duck Confit and Arugula
Gluten-free. Tender, slow-cooked duck served crisp over a salad of arugula, blood orange roast pear with winter hill farm's bradbury bleu, and spicy almonds.
Smoked Maine Shrimp Spring Rolls
Wild-caught baby shrimp with cabbage and scallions rolled in a light pastry and flash fried. Served with nuoc cham dressing.
Franny's Crab Cakes
Local peekytoe crab over our napa slaw with ginger mango dressing.
Lobster Fritters
Fresh maine lobster in a fried pillow of batter. Served with corn relish and spicy remoulade.

The Caesar Salad
Grilled romaine with a garlicky goat cheese aioli, grilled focaccia shards, and reggiano.
Franny's Salad
Baby lettuce with poached barnyard egg, golden beets, bacon crispettes, roast shallot, feta, and grilled focaccia shards in an herb vinaigrette.
Non Traditional Greens Salad
Tender baby lettuce tossed in a light dressing wrapped in lavash with goat cheese.
Mesclun Greens Salad
A plate of fresh greens with house vinaigrette goat cheese and shards.

Gluten-free. Buttery good and loaded with sharp cheddar.
Roasted Roots
Gluten-free. Roasted root vegetables in olive oil and buttery splash.

Gluten-free. Smashed yukon golds pan-seared in butter til crisp.
Nappa Slaw
Light nappa cabbage with nuoc cham, scallions, and sweet peppers.

Roast Poussin
Tender young chicken seared on the grill oven-finished over roasted roots and paneed yukon golds with a garlic-herb drizzle.
Shrimp Linguine
Jumbo shrimp sauteed with marinated artichoke hearts, olives, fresh and sun-dried tomatoes, capers, wild mushrooms, lemon, and garlic. Tossed with linguine fini, feta crumbles.
Scallops and Mussels
Gluten-free. Pan seared local sea scallops and rope-grown mussels with creamed corn and bacon over cheddar grits.
Portuguese Seafood and Linguine
Local blue mussels, diver scallops, and gulf shrimp with spicy andouille sausage, sofrito, and pomodoro broth tossed with linguine and finished with fresh herbs.
Steak Frites
Gluten-free. Wood-grilled bistro steak served along with grilled romaine, goat cheese aioli, and garlicky fries.
Roots N Grits
Gluten-free. Olive oil roasted root vegetables with fresh herbs over cheddar grits.
Tagliatelle Ragu Abruzzese and Meatballs
Slow cooked beef short ribs and pork in a rich tomato sauce with meatballs over semolina noodles. Parmigiano reggiano.
Shrimp and Grits
Gluten-free. Done the bayou way with tender jumbo shrimp and cajun andouille sausage in a slow-cooked sofrito based sauce over our cheddar grits.
Ribs and Slaw
Pork back ribs marinated with ginger and molasses, slow cooked, and finished with a hoisin glaze. Served with nappa slaw, sesame, and cilantro sprinkle.

Franny’s Bistro is the perfect elevated spot for a special occasion or just-because, whether a date night or getting together with friends or loved ones. It’s extremely cozy, especially on a winter evening, with moody amber lighting, but not too stuffy. I’m sure their outdoor seating is charming as well when there isn’t snow on the ground.

The dishes on offer are a wide array that nod to both the seafaring roots of coastal Maine, as well as bistro dishes...

Expected a nice dinner, was surprised with an experience beyond that. From the cozy, and *warm* (they won't even seat people too close to the door in the winter) atmosphere, beautiful bold dishes, and above and beyond service from Frank, I would go out of my way to come back.

Delicious, cozy, elevated (but not stuffy)& creative restaurant. We had a wonderful experience. Everything was top notch from the food, the timing, the service and the atmosphere. Highly recommend.
