We really wanted to love this restaurant when we dined there last night, but it seems the Fates were against us. The food tasted wonderful, but all meals came out lukewarm to cold. For example, the extremely tasty artichoke dip served in a small cast iron pot that was bubbling along the edges, with the cheese topping bubbling on top, were hiding a center that was actually cool! They must have prepared the dip during the day and stored it refrigerated prior to finishing in the oven. Nothing wrong with that, but it just needed more time in the oven which was a shame, as it was a wonderful dish.
The cool food syndrome continued when the prosciutto wrapped asparagus served with a lovely steak and fingerling potatoes came out; the only thing on the plate that was warm were the potatoes. Once it again, it seems that the asparagus were boiled earlier and then stored in the refrigerator prior to being wrapped in the prosciutto, and then put in the oven to finish. Regrettably they were removed to the oven prior to the asparagus actually getting hot. To make matters worse the steak was lukewarm when it came to the table.
And the hits, I mean misses, keep on coming. When a lovely perfect home-made pasta Aglio e Olio came out, the accompanying lobster tail was undercooked. Being 2nd generation Italian American, I was blown away by the pasta, but to see an obviously undercooked lobster tail by virtue of translucent, not solid white flesh, was quite disappointing. For context, I'm the sort of person who likes to see most fish a hair translucent because the sin over overcooked fish is high treason, but this tail had a long way to go before it became rubbery.
I pointed this out to our server and she offered to get me a second tail, which did come out. It was larger, but also a bit undercooked and I was reluctant to point that out also. Based on the lobster tails and the artichoke dip, I don't think there's much temperature checking of items in the kitchen. The server did give me a credit for the lobster tail miss when the bill came, which I appreciated, but it just took away from the perfection of the pasta. It would have been better to forgo that entirely and serve the pasta by itself.
The endgame also had faults, as the banana bread dessert had a burned crust and my double expresso came out nice and hot, but it took so long for my requested sugar and lemon twist to arrive, the coffee had gone cold. On the positive side the berry cobbler a la mode was the only temperature win for the night, bubbling hot and quite delicious.
As I said earlier, all the dishes tasted wonderful, but serving them at improper temperatures really jaded the entire evening. It just seemed that the kitchen was lacking harmony last night, and a big let down considering it was an 84 mi round trip for us to dine there. It will be quite some time before we come around for a second try.

We found this amazing gem on a little getaway trip from Montana in October and had an amazing time! They squeezed us in at the bar last minute on a very busy night and we ended up sitting next to the manager, Crystal who was so warm and welcoming and throughout the evening we drank delicious fall themed craft cocktails and had many delicious appetizers and everyone from the hostess, to the bartender, to the chef was outstanding. Portions were great, food was top notch and the atmosphere on point! It feels good to give your business to a local place, passionate about their team, their community and their job. Thank you for making our evening so special and for the beautiful connection we made while we were there!

Excellent food, excellent service.
As a local, I have the choice of lots of restaurants in town and I am disappointed that it took me so long to discover this gem which happens to be very close to my house. We came for happy hour and sat at the bar, had great drinks and appetizers. We were so impressed that we returned to have our anniversary dinner there and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We will certainly be back.

My husband and I had an impromptu anniversary dinner here and it was fantastic. From the cocktails to dessert — the French Apple cake was especially impressive. Mussels very fresh. Didn’t take many photos and these don’t do the meal justice, the whole experience (food-service-ambiance) was lovely. We sat at the bar and they had a well-curated collection of bottles and their wine list was well-sourced and interesting.

This restaurant is reallllly good. We were warmly welcomed by the hostess/manager(?) Kat, who even went out of her way to kindly follow up on our experience before we left. The atmosphere is beautiful (well designed/upscale) while also being cozy and comfortable. I got the lobster tortellini and my boyfriend got the cabbage wrapped halibut - wowwww. They both had so much flavor and were cooked perfectly. Our server recommended/gave us a small tasting of wine to help us decide which we liked best, which is nice when they’re proactive on that and offer. We got the cheesecake and ice cream dessert (both were homemade by the restaurant) which were a delicious way to end it all. It was my first time here, and although I live in portland and not Camden, I’ll make a note to come back here - 10/10 reccomend! (My bf and I are big foodies and travel/explore tons of cuisine, and this is an honest review).

Nice intimate space on the modern Wayfarer wharf. Garage door windows open onto the dock. Friendly attentive service and creative food. I had the lobster risotto and highly recommend it. Good cocktails too. Good job Salt Wharf!

Our first time in Camden and our first dinner was at the Salt Wharf! We choose brilliantly! We went from strangers to friends in 2 minutes! My wife was already smiling by the time I parked the car-1 minute away. We were warmly greeted by Kat, taken to a super comfortable table-bench seat. Our server, Kay Loni, promptly brought us their descriptions of the daily preparations they called food and I call Masterpieces. We could see the chef and sous-chef preparing our choices. We choose oysters and marveled at the taste we cannot find in the best restaurants in Kansas City.
The salad ,although simple, had a delicious lemon flavor without being heavy. We completely enjoyed the Lobster Risotto with the freshest lobster EVER! Rarely do we have dessert but the blueberry, cream mousse was over-the-top in flavor.
Normally this would be the end of the review but if you miss the Salt Wharf, you missed their sommelier! Steve greeted us with a smile and an extensive wine list which we promptly ignored. Steve pared our wine ,perfectly, to our 4 course meal. He entertained us with stories of the wine history and why it pares to our food choices. In no time, we were like old friends asking where to go for morning coffee , lunch and other restaurants. He made great recommendations for other dinner options but we both said at the same time, what night can you get us on your schedule to come back !!

The hospitality was warm and attentive. It was raining so we could not take advantage of the view.
Oysters were delicious! I had the gnocchi with lobster which was absolutely wonderful and my husband had the risotto with lobster. Both choices were delicious!
Dessert was the fruit “cobbler” with lemon poppy seed ice cream
The entire meal was delicious. Highly recommended.

Seafood tough and over cooked. Our meals did not come out at the same time after an hour and a half wait. We left hungry. Very small overpriced portions.

Very disappointed I drove an hour and they closed earlier than social media and their sign on front. Plus no responses on Facebook where I even messaged my arrival time. Not that roof needs or typically has taken reservations but I figured they’d like to know two more folks would come enjoy sunset and 60°+ temps before Nov 1 roof closure. Had hoped for food, beverages (and even water) now just driving home. Dependability. And wanting of business. Not here.
Recently, I went to the rooftop bar on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. While busy, the service was top tier! The bartender, Ian, was very knowledgeable and gave excellent recommendations on drinks and food!
It's definitely a must visit to get an amazing view of camden in a laid-back atmosphere with exceptional service.
