Decent place. A little weird to order food via app but have to go to the bar for drinks. Also, when I was there the place was severely understaffed.

Had oysters and a cocktail here on New Year’s Eve. The ambiance, service and overall experience was great!

Hands down one of the best restaurants in the mid coast (and frankly, broader New England). We added the off-menu wine pairing to our meal, and the Sommelier (Stephen) was incredibly knowledgeable and fun which really elevated our dining experience. The oysters and caviar were unbelievably fresh, and our main entrees deliciously creative - our group of four had the Herbed ricotta gnudi, steak frites, and the special for the night which was a short rib with beef tallow marshmallows. Everything was perfectly prepared and expertly coursed out. We finished with a trio of homemade ice cream and a chocolate tart - both incredible. I couldn’t recommend the Salt Wharf enough - we will definitely be back!

Salt Wharf has given us many good memories of inventive food and festive occasions. Sadly, it has taken a nose dive. We were puzzled, on this visit, as to why it would be nearly empty on a Friday night. We soon realized that things weren't quite right. First, our server announced that the restaurant was "out of draft beer for the season." How is that possible in a state with hundreds of craft breweries? Next, the server kept pushing a $12 canned beer and wouldn't let up on that sales pitch. The menu, which was once rich with options, had been stripped down to about a third of its former size. When we entered our order for the much-advertised house burger, we were told that we could not request medium well cooking. Rather, we were told three times that the burger would be "cooked to perfection." When questioned, the server couldn't explain what "cooked to perfection" meant. Worse, she insisted that the kitchen had a mysterious "setting" for the "temperature" of the meat that could not be changed. When the food arrived, the burgers were lukewarm and overly red--medium rare at best--while the fries were hot, a pretty clear indication that the sandwiches sat around while the fries were finished. No forks or knives were presented until we asked. To top it off, the dining room was chilly and without any other kind of warmth. Needless to say, the hefty $100 tab for this flop was not justified.

We received a warm welcome even though a bit early for our reservation. Service overall was very friendly and efficient. A sommelier introduced himself and offered a three course wine tasting which we accepted. Ordered deviled eggs, bread service and octopus for appetizers. All were very delicious and the wines were great. I had the halibut which was a large portion, some was a bit rare for me. Two people had the braised ribs special and another had the steak and frites. All the food was presented nicely and food tasty. We recommend the wine pairing as it was perfect. Overall a delightful experience!

Way over priced for the quality and taste of the food. The halibut dish had good flavor but was undercooked and had to be sent back to be finished. My husband had the mussels and said they were just ok. We had the apple sundae dessert which tasted like burnt caramel. Overall an average to disappointing meal for over $150.

Modern waterfront spot with exceptional food and service. It's obvious that the staff really cares about your dining experience and they are clearly passionate about what they do. This restaurant is easily as good as the best spots in Portland. Don't miss it if you visit Camden!

Wow. We live in Maine and came for the weekend to Camden. Looked online to make dinner reservations and found all the regular spots that we already knew about. We happened upon Salt Wharf and are thrilled that we did! Absolutely delectable meal, perfect wine, pairing, and excellent service.Dietary restrictions: Good options for my GF husband

One of the best restaurants of its kind on the East Coast and possibly the country. The chef and pastry chef talent that has been assembled here is second to none. The food was absolutely incredible and the Sommelier's wine pairings and all of the service staff were friendly, helpful and top of class. We had the swordfish and several of the small plates and the coconut cake for desert. The homemade breads and crackers that accompanied the small plates were irresistible and every dish was plated beautifully and had amazing flavors. Salt Wharf gets my highest recommendation, across the board. If you are anywhere in the area, you really should go to this very special restaurant. You won't be disappointed.

Dinner was great. The Wagu Denver was better than the Halibut. Nice wine selections but the manager came to the table and discussed our choice, which was awesome. The service was great. This was more of a dress shirt vibe.

An awesome dining experience! The food is prepared in view, wonderful to the taste, and is exceptionally presented. The staff is friendly, professional and knowledgeable. A true gem for the culinary at heart!

Very impressed with this dining opportunity. Enjoyed the radish terrine, pickled beets and ricotta gnudi. While it is harbor side dining, it is a farm-to-table menu with excellent fresh ingredients. Service was friendly and helpful without being overbearing. We had a quick, light meal and left wishing we lived nearby to return for a bigger event and to try what looked like an excellent wine list.

Rarely do we go out to eat where we rave about the food. But here we did. The food was extremely good and very well served by our server Will, who walked us through the menu including dishes he personally liked. Great food, wine and service. I could not ask for more.

My only suggestion for the restaurant is our table was right on the path where the servers took the dirty dishes to the kitchen. It has to be done obviously, but it was a bit distracting. Otherwise a great dining experience.
