Went for breakfast while on vacation in the area. We enjoyed a delicious fresh cooked breakfast in the outside seating overlooking the river. Staff was friendly and food was delicious. Will define return when we're in the area again!

We had an excellent breakfast and experience at the Mill Cafe. The chef and team were fantastic, the french toast was amazing, and the overall setting is beautiful. Appreciate all the time and energy that goes into making this space so wonderful. Thank you!

Very sad we had a poor experience. It has been a year since our last visit. The menu had less than a 1/3 of the items it used to have. The meals we got looked like it was made by a untrained teenager. I could have gotten a better meal from the grocery store premade stock. The passion was gone. High quality food was missing. The perky staff nowhere to be found. We used to look forward to a upper scale bistro. But not anymore. :(

Really cool vibe! What a gem right in Dover! Indoor and outdoor seating right on the river. Food was really good. I had the avacado toast with eggs and it was excellent.

I recently visited this establishment for breakfast and was quite dissapointed with the overall vibe. The food was pretty good and the staff were very kind and helpful towards me. However, my issue arises with the woman who I assume was the owner or manager of this cafe. I tried to mind my own business but the atmosphere was so tense with this woman around that it was extremely hard not to notice the way that she talked down to the employees. What initially I thought was a very nice place to get food and drinks quickly turned into a place that I would not want to support due to the treatment that I saw towards the staff.

I recently visited this establishment during a birthday trip to Maine. Upon arrival, the restaurant was empty with no other customers present. I placed our order through the app and selected the dine-in option for our party of four.

Over the course of an hour, no staff member approached us or provided any updates. During this time, additional customers—both individuals and larger groups—began to arrive. We observed that these guests received their drinks and meals promptly, despite arriving well after us.

While we initially gave the benefit of the doubt, considering our party size might require more preparation time, it became difficult to ignore the fact that we were the only people of color present and consistently overlooked. We did not want to assume this was racially motivated, but as the situation unfolded, that concern became harder to dismiss.

Eventually, a member of our group approached the counter to inquire about our order. The staff apologized and claimed they were unaware we were there. Roughly 30 minutes later, our food was finally brought out—in takeout containers and a bag, despite our clear selection of the dine-in option. This left us feeling unwelcome and disregarded.

We spent close to $100, and we still chose to leave a tip. While the owner did offer an apology, the experience left a lasting negative impression. As a U.S. citizen and veteran, I would like to believe that race did not play a role in the treatment we received. However, witnessing multiple Caucasian parties, some even larger than ours, being served promptly while we were ignored raises serious questions.

I sincerely hope this feedback is taken as an opportunity to reflect and improve. No guest should ever leave feeling the way we did.

You order up front at the counter. They do bring you the food. I got 2 scrambled eggs with bacon and toast. The homemade toast was excellent! The scrambled eggs were not scrambled! Thinner than a pancake, an over grilled very flat round rubber circle. They do not make fluffy scrambled eggs! No potatoes included For $16 - definitely NOT worth it. They try to act like it's a fancy place, but serves mediocre food. SMALL portions all around for the four of us. Too expensive!

We had dinner at the Mill Cafe , which was excellent, quiet but elegant, food was served professionally and very friendly. Also stayed at the Mill Inn the same evening, just up the stairs. Beautiful rooms
