Went there with not much choice and expectations because it was one of the two, three places that were open during this off season but their food was great. Loved their seafood chowder!

I cannot say enough good things about this place, especially the seafood bisque! I thought it was crazy to pay so much for the seafood bisque, but it was fantastic. I opted for the cup rather than the bowl to save five dollars, and frankly I wish I had gotten the bowl. I actually drove for two hours from Bangor (and back the same night) just to come out here and try this. I STILL thought it was well worth it. Because this was an out of the way treat for myself, I also got the lobster roll with onion rings. I know my cholesterol must still be in recovery, but MAN was this yummy. The service was really great as well. I asked for honest suggestions for the best things, knowing I would be be back soon - or easily. And, I got just that - great suggestions and great food.

A friendly local spot for great seafood. Best seafood chowder I've ever had. Consistently good quality over the 5 years I have been coming here. Atmosphere is funky, ecclectic and unique.

Great food! The clam chowder was delicious and super creamy. Also ordered haddock & fries, which were fresh, tasty, & crisp. Best meal we've had in Maine! We went before the dinner rush so we had the dining room to ourselves.

Happy Crab was the first place for food and drinks my husband and I encountered upon moving to Eastport. We liked the atmosphere and service, which made up for any less than awesome food experiences...until this evening. We arrived, and waited for half an hour for someone to come to our table (we were unfamiliar with this person, but maybe because we came on a different night than usual). It was obvious our server was covering some tables, plus the bar, so of course we gave them grace. I have worked in the service industry and empathize. We eventually got food and drinks. We were brought the bill that we were not ready for, at which time we requested more drinks. Those were brought along with the amended bill. We joked that they were trying to get us to leave. A little while later, we managed to flag down our server who had been to all the tables surrounding us, multiple times. We asked for more drinks and were told that if we wanted more, we needed to go to the bar to order them. A little caught off guard we kind of nodded, not sure what that was about. We thought maybe after a certain amount of time (on a Sunday evening), they stopped doing rounds to tables or something. Then we stayed for another half an hour watching all the tables around us continue to be fully served while we were ignored. I managed to catch our server's attention again to ask for more drinks and an appetizer. I was instructed to go to the bar to order. I asked why we were the only table that had to do that and was told that it was because we had been there for awhile and it was busy. This would have been a little more palatable if all the other tables had to do the same, which they did not. My plan was to continue date night with my husband, in a place we felt comfortable and happy. Instead, frustrated, I went to the bar to settle up. I was handed a bill with multiple errors that resulted in an extra $20 of charges that had to be addressed and corrected. We frequent this establishment weekly, tip generously, and usually look forward to coming back. Not so much after this.

We stopped here while visiting the area. Friendly staff. We were able to get seated fairly quickly they have indoor or outdoor option. We tried the seafood chowder and the fish and chips. The seafood chowder was very good. The fish and chips had a good batter and cooked excellent it lacked a little flavor but went well paired with the tartar sauce. Fries were cooked great but lacked seasoning. Overall had a great atmosphere.

We had an unexpected stop in Eastport today and had lunch here! The food, atmosphere, and wait staff were fantastic, even with a suddenly busy day! The Haddock and lobster rolls were tasty and we pinned a dollar to the wall!

By far the best seafood chowder we've ever had. This is a nice local restaurant. The service was very good and the waitress was very nice and attentive. I would highly recommend coming in, just to order the seafood chowder. If you're into beers, they have a nice selection.

We came on a pirate invasion weekend and there was a lot going on so the service was a little slow but not too bad. The food was delicious and I loved the ambience of the place.
