Was in the area for a few days to visit Acadia National park. My gf and I said this is so much better than the food at bar harbor 😭 not to mention it’s like 50 for a tiny plate of lobster vs here at sumo lots of delicious food for reasonable price

i just want to share my working experience here.. i never met the worst place that i worked like this.. i don’t want to share but this is the experience so others will not trapped in the same situation like me.. i worked use my heart even until the last day i worked.. even the customer loves me and know me well here in crazy sumo.. but when i said i stop working there with 3 day notifications. They treat me like trash .. even my paycheck delayed until 1 month and can you imagine that for 8 working days i just get 200$? i still have all the copy for every day i work and how much the tips that i received in actual amount.. also they called me a liar because when i said i sent message to one of the owner and get blocked .. she said i m a liar even i have the proof? in my place now even they want to stop working here, they just let them go and still directly paid their Rights! please stop doing like that to someone working for you sincerely..

Was super empty when we went at about 1pm. Overall the food came out fast and was delicious. Hibachi portions of meat left a bit to be desired but you get rice and noodles as well as soup and salad.

We had reservations and were sat at the hibachi table promptly. We had our salad and soup and had our appetizer and ordered our food. We were a half out into our dinner and they out 5 others at our table so we had to wait for them. Not good. I’ve been to easily 100 hibachi restaurants and this one was below average for food quality. Had steak and shrimp. Shrimp was cooked ok but steak was low quality cut. When we got our bill I noticed that they did not put the $20 off for birthday dinner that they advertised on their website. I asked the server about this and she said they don’t honor that. She mentioned that she gets asked about it all the time and didn’t know why. I said it’s on your website. She replied “ we stopped doing that a few months ago” She wasn’t a good lier. Any way, the people we were dinning with said that was the reason they came there as well. We were both disappointed in the bait and switch. Will not be going back.

When we ordered, we told our waitress, Summer, what we wanted for our meals and appetizers. They brought my daughter’s meal as an appetizer. We waited 30mins then Summer comes out and tells us they don’t have what we ordered. Once we all got our meals, she dropped them and left. Never brought my son’s meal. After trying to get her attention, I went and asked for a manager and the gentleman at the front didn’t know if they had one. Then we waited another 30mins just to get a bill. I do not recommend eating here.

The hibachi dinner was a clumsy pile of very overcooked rib eye, vegetables, greasy noodles and boring fried rice. The hibachi sauce lacked any identifiable flavor, the sushi was bland and goyza was clearly frozen. The staff were inattentive and often confused about orders being placed. The restaurant decor is dated and grubby.

HAFS Downeast Maine

Food is excellent! Staff is amazing! This is almost my go-to spot for lunch... BUT the next time I come in and there's no a/c will be my last time coming. Its very unprofessional to 1. Not have the a/c running or 2. Not alert customers its not working. Since the staff didn't know anything about it I'll figure its the prior.

I'm sticking with 3 stars for the uncomfortable dining situation. Someone failed
