I had to send my maple poutine back because it was so burnt and no chicken. So they took it back and then brought it back out with only half the serving. Took out some of the burnt ones and added more cheese and a few chunks of chicken. Then when you order a governor's blue plate you're supposed to get two burgers. We got our check they added an extra cheeseburger. Then proceeded to tell us if we didn't pay for it they were calling the police. Lol what a joke. I would love for the manager to contact me. I will never come back to this restaurant this was my go-to place until this. And I live locally.

I like to get take out. I was happy with the chicken pot pie and ordered it several times. Then things went downhill. The first thing was that the piece of chicken pot pie was a pile of moosh, not a slice of pie. The next two times the size had shrunk significantly and the crust was burnt. Sometimes they forget to include a roll. To jclay: after speaking with the team a week ago, I received an acceptable chicken pot pie take out order. I would like to see consistent quality on a regular basis moving forward.Parking: When backing out of some of the parking spaces, it is close. Be careful not to back into another car.
I’ve never liked the coffee at governors in Ellsworth.. and I love coffee with my breakfast!. Today my friend Staci encouraged me to try the coffee.She said we changed it’s!I’m now on my 2nd cup and can sit here and drink it for the next two hours!Well OK that’s a little overkill but I am so happy to finally be able to drink coffee at governors and it’s absolutely delicious. I have no idea what kind it is and I’m not even going to ask!All I know is it was delicious!Thanks governors for changing your coffee and making it better tasting in my opinion!Those of you that like the governors coffee before it is so much better..Your staff it’s so kind and sweet and sincere… the service is always great and the food is really good (thanks Chefs) Thank you from one satisfied customer!Vegetarian options: Eggplant would be awesome!
Sadly, the reason for coming was pretty much a letdown. We'd been in Acadia and Bar Harbor for the day and were headed south. Had researched where along the way to get a decent lobster roll before leaving the area and this came up a few times on Reddit. I had it and was slightly disappointed. I'm not a huge lobster snob, but even I could tell this was a 6/10 effort at best. Wife and kids ordered lots of other stuff and it was all great. We had a great server and the booths and low-key atmosphere were just what we could've hoped for in an early dinner before another long stretch on the road. Basically all was great, except for the so-so lobster roll.

My post must have been pulled. Ate there twice three days apart. The first experience was good food, especially the desert, great service. The second visit was just the oposite. Were seated waitress was subpar. My wife and I both orders the meatloaf special. The first plate was cold and returned to the kitchen. (BOTH) The second plate (mine) was raw inside bloody uncooked hamburger. The manager was less than pleased with our discovery. It was almost like it was our fought the food wasn't cooked. My wife and I took pictures in case we got sick. I would have a real difficult time recomending this restraunt.

One of the only restaurants open on New Year's Day. The lobster bisque was was subpar, as the lobster was rubbery. The lobster roll was disappointing and not filling. The bread was phenomenal though. The sweet potato fries were also disappointing. Our waitress was super sweet and nice, but the food was just not satisfying - lacking flavor.

Absolutely will NEVER go here again. Once we were finally shown our table, to which the hostess immediately walked away without a word, we sat down and this horrible smell hit us. Looking around to find the source, the group sitting across from us informed us that they think it's the menus. The menus are covered with butts of food and smell like spoiled milk. The glass dividing the tables is already opaque with filth as well. I couldn't handle the filth and left before anyone even came to our table (about 3 minutes)I don't know what happened to this place, but it's severely gone down hill. The staff are there to do a job, and that's it. CUSTOMER SERVICE DOES NOT EXIST HERE ANYMORE.Governor's, Shame on you.
