We loved this place! The menu has a lot of options. I got Fish n Chips, with fried haddock, and it was very good! A lot of times it comes with cod, which I'm not a fan of.

We had baked stuffed haddock. It was stuffed with mushy bread and mushrooms covered with a lobster sauce. The haddock floated in the sauce. Nothing had any flavor. The French fries were delicious! Very expensive for the quality!

We stopped here for dinner on the way back from Acadia National Park. Despite the full parking lot, we were lucky that we were brought to our spot after about 2 minutes. Shortly after us there was a line up to the front door. The service was very friendly and very quick despite the busyness. Our food tasted very good and the value for money was also right. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely come back.

This place is phenomenal! It was 110% worth the short wait time, don’t let the line scare you. Our waiter was super friendly and attentive, and made us feel right at home. Helen’s has a huge menu with a wide array of options at great prices. They also have a vegetarian section on the menu, and multiple rotating vegetarian sides every night. I got the cottage cheese and garlic broccoli (weird dinner I know, but it was delicious). Others in my party got the fish tacos, blackened haddock, and blueberry pie and loved their meals. There’s also a gender-neutral bathroom, which is always cool. Overall, 6/5 stars, we’re going back tomorrow night ??

Vegetarian options: Vegetarian menu section, multiple permanent vegetarian sides, and multiple rotating vegetarian sides.

You will love this gem! The food is great! So are the people! Obviously the lobster is going to cost more, than the other meals.

If you are looking for variety and good home cooking, you need to stop at Helen’s in Ellsworth, ME. The food is over the top and portions are phenomenal. We had meatloaf, pork chops, fresh lobster and coconut shrimp at our table and all were exceptional.
And then…be sure to finish it off with a slice of their homemade blueberry pie…yum!!

First time at Helens and walking in it was very noisy and crowded. We were a party of 6 but were seated in about 5 minutes. Our waitress was not very friendly and basically threw the menus, napkins and silverware into the middle of the table. I ordered the broiled salmon dinner with two sides, coleslaw and mashed potato. I received mashed potato and corn. The fish was very good and perfectly cooked but my sides were barely warm. When one of our group asked our server if we were all supposed to get a dinner roll with our entree she returned with a plate holding 3 rolls( there were 6 of us). The butter and rolls were cold. At the end of our meal my friend asked for a to go container and the grumpy server replied" your going to have to wait because my other tables have been waiting too long". Really? Having been in the hospitality
business myself for 30 years I try hard to be patient and kind but when given attitude from the moment we sat down it made me not want to ever return. The coconut cream pie was yummy though.
