If you are a doughnut lover, and you’re in the Ellsworth area, you must visit Imago Dei Cafe. My daughter and I stopped by the Cafe over the weekend and are so glad we did. Alexis the owner is wonderful and so are her yummy sweet potato donuts. She had a wide variety of flavor options - including several gluten free - which we of course had to try. We asked her about cakes and she can accommodate a wide variety of dietary options (paleo, vegan, etc) which is good to know. We will definitely be back.

We stopped here while on the road and omg, we are so happy we found this cute shop! It's like walking into someone's kitchen and you can smell the fresh donuts as soon as you walk up to the door. Very friendly service and the donuts are the best I've ever had. The gluten free & vegan option is so delicious and definitely compares to the regular ones. We loved the orange/ rose donuts and all the others, too.

I was a little nervous trying a place that focuses on a gluten free audience, especially with two kids in tow, but I'm so glad we did! My kids LOVED these donuts - one of them said the raspberry iced donut was his favorite that he has ever had. They don't taste like sweet potatoes; they just taste like light, fluffy, delicious donuts. I recommend giving this little locally owned business a try!
If you are gluten free, get here early. Donuts are amazing and owner was delightful. Our daughter was thrilled with the raspberry donuts. Call ahead if you can’t make it there early.
