Some of the best food and drinks around plus since it’s outdoor dining they allow my dog to join me. Always a win! The Brussels are amazing! The salads are incredible! The coconut shrimp are chefs kiss

Great fish and fries! Who makes their own tartar sauce any more? Josie's, that's who! Delicious, with a hint of horseradish, I think. Great place.

1st time this season. Creamy shrimp pasta on point. Beetroot salad on point. Nice large portions. Friendly staff. Soooo many choices. Menu to fit every tast. Great for kids. Outdoor seating, funky selection of sake, beers, Asian snacks and groceries. Local joint.

Look, I don’t even know how to rate this place because it makes absolutely no sense and yet here I am, five stars, like an idiot.
Josie’s. JOSIE’S. You’re in the middle of coastal Maine — which, congratulations, you’ve chosen to live somewhere that is uninhabitable for roughly eleven months of the year — and this restaurant just decided, you know what, let’s serve EVERYTHING. Every cuisine. Every continent. Like some maniac just spun a globe, pointed at random countries and went “yeah, we’ll do that one too.” Thai food? Sure. Moroccan? Why not. Orange chicken with a side of CLAMS? ABSOLUTELY. And the thing that makes me genuinely angry — genuinely furious — is that it’s all GOOD. I wanted to hate it so bad. I came in there READY. You can’t do everything well, that’s not how cooking WORKS. And yet.
And then there’s the servers. Sweet people. TOO sweet. These folks are so happy to see you it’s almost uncomfortable, like you accidentally made a friend and now you have to figure out how to leave. They’re out there in Maine, population: twelve, just STARVING for human interaction and God help you if you make eye contact.
Oh and the outdoor seating — I love this — they’ve wrapped the whole patio in tarps. TARPS. So Mainers can sit outside and feel like they’re in nature while being completely protected from the nature that is actively trying to kill them nine months a year. It’s the most passive aggressive relationship with the outdoors I’ve ever seen and honestly? Respect.
I’ve had breakfast there. Lunch. Dinner. Blueberry pancakes that made me question my life choices — in a good way. I don’t know what’s happening in that kitchen and I don’t want to know. Some things you just accept.
Go to Josie’s. You don’t have a choice anyway.

Generic Sysco slop. The chicken teriyaki was a disappointment. Two 4 oz chicken breasts dipped in teriyaki sauce from a bottle. It wasn't marinated or velveted or breaded. I was expecting what you'd get in a Chinese restaurant, especially since the owner is oriental. The steamed veggies however were excellent. The burger was a pre-formed circular pattie that was obviously frozen. The owner and staff were friendly, great atmosphere. Why do the tables have forks and knives but no spoons? Owner should pare down the menu to fewer items, focus on better ingredients (especially meat) and make homemade sauces. I'd rather have quality food than gargantuan portion sizes. I've had this same hospital-cafeteria-grade chicken breast and boring teriyaki sauce too many times.

Do NOT skip out on a meal here. This is not just a grab and go shop! Ordered a bunch of things to try... everything was incredible. Immaculate kitchen and dining area, friendly staff, DELICIOUS Filipino food. The family and I went twice within 24 hours. This is a family favorite whenever we visit Maine! 🩷 Thank you Josie & team!

I ate here today. I walked in and said, “hold the vegetables,” [they couldn’t help but adorn the plate, though). They did such a fantastic job. Above and beyond, Josie! I enjoyed this meal and interaction with the staff so much. I’ll be back when I’m through town again.

Food was absolutely delicious and the service was outstanding. Everything came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The portions were perfect, satisfying without being overwhelming.

David was our server and he was fantastic. He was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was just right without being overbearing. You can really tell he cares about the guest experience.

The atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal. Highly recommend Josie’s Cafe. We will definitely be back.

Great food. Large selection of on the run snacks and sandwiches and about anything you can think of to drink. Unique snacks you don't find in every store.

Just stopped here after a long weekend in Acadia national Park. What an incredible menu! Filipino inspired restaurant mixed with a main country store. Something on the menu for everybody. I can’t eat gluten dairy or meat and they had plenty of options for me. David was our server, he was amazing and so charismatic. Thank you for having us!
