First-time visit after a youth hockey game. We were seated at a long table that was like a divider between the sports bar area and the dining area, so there was no ambiance whatsoever -- no windows, very dim lighting, and we could hardly see what we were eating. The tavern area has a bar and all four-seat high top tables and wasn't an option with two kids. We got a variety of food -- pizza, pasta, large salad with protein, fish & chips, fried chicken sandwich, fries, cocktails and chocolate milks. Most of the food was good except for the child's menu pizza, but the regular fries and sweet potato fries were hand cut and delicious. Our waitress was efficient and friendly. The overall vibe for us was that it the whole place was too dark and had very little atmosphere. For a typical sports fan watching a game in the tavern area, it would probably be perfect.
Friday at 5:30. Very loud music with lots of people. Difficult to have a conversation across the table.

Rivalries has always been one of my favorite spots, especially in the summertime. Whether I’m hanging out on the deck, stopping by for lunch, or watching a Boston sports game with friends, it’s always a great time. The food may be classic pub style, but it’s pub style on steroids—I’ve never had a bad meal here.
Lance, the owner, is often around and genuinely takes time to check in on guests, which is a great touch. But the real star of the staff is Jen, the head manager. She’s absolutely phenomenal to work with, especially when it comes to planning a function. Whether it’s a small family gathering or a larger group event, Jen’s professionalism, experience, and friendly approach make the whole process easy—and even fun.
They truly do a great job all around, and I always look forward to coming back.

We are from out of town and stopped in for a quick lunch. Probably had the best double hamburger and truffle fries I've ever experienced. The waitress was extremely friendly, we had an excellent meal.
We stopped by to get out of the torrential rain on our way up to Maine. This was a surprise find. The Sweet Chili Chicken Dip and the kids' Grilled Cheese were delicious!
We came out of the restaurant, and there was a full rainbow! 😀

Not a bad place for a quick meal.
Rivalries is one of our go-to spots for great food, a welcoming vibe, and catching the game in a fun atmosphere. Whether we’re meeting friends, unwinding after a long day of moves, or grabbing lunch during the workday, the experience is always solid.
The menu hits the mark every time—fresh, consistent, and with plenty of options. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the space has just the right mix of comfort and energy.
As a local business ourselves, we appreciate places like Rivalries that continue to deliver a great experience, time and time again.

I highly recommend Rivalries for hosting events! We planned to my mom‘s birthday party to take place in the dining room with about 30 to 40 people.
Planning with Jenny over email was quick and easy and she responded to all of my questions.
The food from the event menu was delicious, everyone was talking about how yummy the spinach Dip, deviled eggs, and guac were.
Our server, Maggie, Was wonderful and managed our numerous separate tabs with ease.
Great experience! The food was great. We liked the sports history decoration inside!
We came at 3pm on a Saturday so our service may be biased since it was practically empty. The food all came out super fast, everything tasted great, and the wait staff were super quick and helpful.
Our waitress was polite and worked hard to accommodate us- no issues with her service. That being said, our meals came out sporadically, they were not prepared a described (rivalry burger did not have cheese and special sauce as requested) chips were served rather than fries and the two who received their meals first finished way after everyone else. The burgers were all well done an cooled off by the time we received them (we were not asked how we wanted them cooked) and one of the people in the party got a child's burger rather than a Rivalries burger. What topped the whole evening off was the cost- If the burgers had been prepared correctly, served while they were still hot and in a timely manner I would not have felt that the cost was too much but, given the service, the poor preparation of the meals and the time in which they were serviced it was way too much. Another issue was the volume of the tv's - it was very difficult to have a conversation with all the speakers blaring away. I do understand that this is a sports bar however I think they games could be watched without the volume. Would I return again, no way.
Overpriced, bland atmosphere. Generic as hell.
