Stopped for lunch on our way south. Restaurant was crowded but the one waitress did the best she could. Our BLT sandwiches were very good but for some reason they couldn’t toast our bread. I’d go back if they weren’t crowded.

ordered burnt beef tips and i got ham pieces… then got a burger and it tasted like straight chemicals. told server it was pork she went back and told the chef and he said “oh yeah sometimes we get the pork ones”, but then she proceeded to come back and say “oh i went downstairs and the box said beef tips” but it was clearly pork. completely dissatisfied with everything.

We came to Jackman to unplug, relax, and enjoy nature. After we discovered this unassuming gem for dinner and everyone was happy with their choices, we returned the next two nights to get double orders of wings to go. Each time they were absolutely delicious-cooked and seasoned perfectly. We got them plain with sauce on the side most times to appease picky kids but everyone enjoyed them either way (plain, sauced, hot and cold later in the evening). The kind and friendly staff who waited on us each time also made us love coming to Smokin’ Barrels. They even gave us an egg to finish a recipe our last night when we came for wings but missed making it to the store in time (everything in Jackman closes earlier than we’re used to).
Really great stop in Jackman! The service, food, and atmosphere is great! Locally-sourced ingredients, friendly service, and tons of options for beer, cocktails, and wine. I definitely recommend whether you’re passing through or staying in the area. My boys loved the pool table, which was an added bonus as well!

For Jackman, the food was great and the inside has a very nice atmosphere despite what the outside might make you think.
