This property has no kitchen and no food. It is in drastic need of repair and care. The nearest place to eat is 20 miles away. The common rooms are dark and need cleaning. The grounds are in meed of care. This place was a huge disappointment!

Yeah, so the reviews make the place fabulous. Actually, there is NO breakfast which was not disclosed, bed mattress was hard as a rock (like sleeping on a dining room table) and carpet was not vacuumed.
The photos outside are very dated. The place needs lots of work.
And yes, you stay in the out building with everyone else.

Apparently most guests don't stay in the 1803 mansion but in another building of no historic interest. The bed was so hard I actually tried sleeping on the carpeted floor, hoping it would be more comfortable. After a near-sleepless night, I finally dozed off but was awakened an hour later when another guest slammed the outside door which was only 5 feet from our room's door.
Rose had asked us to choose a time to eat breakfast and said 8 am would be fine. We arrived on time but had to wait 40 minutes before any food appeared.
The inn does have a view of the White Mountains but is actually located about 20 miles from Conway and North Conway, NH which are the most common access points for the Park.

We loved staying at the CLI. Rose is an amazing host, she did everything to make us comfortable and feel home. Beds are super comfy, the bathroom is well stocked and the room is spacious. For breakfast you can pick from savory or sweet and it is delicious. I would for sure stay there again if I return to the area.Food & drinks: Delicious and generous portions

A thoroughly enjoyable experience! This is a lovely inn, with beautiful touches, cozy places to sit and many conveniences. The yard is serenity itself, with plantings and a gurgling fountain. Sip coffee on the porch, take in the mountain views & enjoy the honor bar. Rose's Room has a comfy bed, gorgeous wallpaper and a large round mirror. Rose is friendly, helpful and hospitable -- and she makes exquisite gourmet breakfasts! I only wish the restaurant had been open for dinner; next time...

We stayed for two nights for a friend’s wedding nearby. Rose was a great host and the hotel is incredibly cozy, which was important for those cold winter days. The breakfasts were also amazing, including some of the best eggs I’ve ever had. We were lucky to be some of the few guests that weekend. The parking lot was icy, which made it a bit difficult to navigate, but that was all too uncommon around town at the time.

We arrived peak season (August). As we drove up we thought the place must have shut. We got to the porch door and all the tables were stacked up, chairs no boxes too - we were sure it was closed. The front door was locked but after ringing the bell a very confused seeming Rose opened the door. We were told prices had gone up so we would have to pay extra - she later changed her mind on this. The place had the feel of the Bates motel - I had to leave the shower curtain open! There was no restaurant, we were told it had been shut a while but this was not advertised anywhere. Breakfast was disappointing in the main because it all tasted of garlic, like the fruit had been chopped on a garlic chopping board - inedible. Despite hotels.com saying it was full we were the only guests. I couldn’t wait to leave. What was so confusing was that all the reviews raved bout the place and Rose in particular. Rose seemed very chaotic, poor at communicating and slightly manic - I fear something had gone wrong. All that said although the bathroom was very old no tires the bedrooms were clean and fresh.

We have not stayed yet, we are staying in July but the owner has gone above and beyond to accommodate us and I really really appreciate it. I already know it’s going to be an awesome day and I can’t wait.

We stopped by the Center Lovell Inn while on a motorcycle trip through Maine. What a wonderful spot! It’s an old house built in 1805, with all the charm of 19th architecture combined with modern amenities. We stayed in Prince’s room, with an amazing view of the Presidential Mountain range. The owners are just fantastic and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. If you find yourself in western Maine I highly recommend the Center Lovell Inn.

Our two bedroom suite was warm, comfortable and perfect for an overnight for our family of five. Two bedrooms, a full bath, and a small bonus room with TV and electric fireplace were a good deal, especially when you include the incredible breakfast.

My fiancé and I just came home from an incredible stay at the Center Lovell Inn. The room was beautiful, charming, and had all of the amenities we needed including a clean bathroom, plenty of towels and a gorgeous view. Rose goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. And the FOOD! So, so good. Rose is an incredible cook and waking up each morning to a fresh, hot breakfast was my favorite part of the day. Highly recommend to anyone who would like a quiet, scenic, comfortable getaway on the border of New Hampshire and Maine. We will be visiting again!

What a quaint place to stay. The rooms are clean and roomy and Rose is a treat. The breakfast was incredible and we loved the location and the grounds. We were there in the height of the fall color and the location, while remote, was easily to get to and right on our way.

My husband and Mother and I stayed in the two bedroom suite for a night en route to Stowe VT. I AM SO GLAD WE STAYED HERE!!! The beds and pillows were comfy and the decor is a modern touch combined with classic pieces. Rose is an amazing woman and has mastered the art of hospitality in this cozy country in she runs with her husband. Breakfast was an amazing French toast with cardamom reduction on fresh fruit with candied pecans. I wish we could have stayed longer. I highly recommend this inn. And the view is to die for.
