Nice little store and definitely a good place to stop on your way by into NH
I stopped in today with my mom and the service was fast and friendly, also has some of the best biscuits eggs and gravy I ever had. I'll definitely stop again whenever I am in the area.
Traveling through Lovell and was thrilled to find such a great place for lunch today. Extremely friendly service, great menu and delicious food. Highly recommend!!

We just stopped for ice cream here but it looks like a good place for breakfast or lunch. They had home made pastries that looked good. It's a small, quint little place with pleasant staff on hand.

Gone way down hill. I had great hopes for it. Chicken salad sandwich, blt, 2 coffees 36 bucks. Ouch

We planned our special dAy in Maine, we are 40 year part time residents, and we thought a nice lunch from the new owners of The Common Loon, in Lovell, could supply us with a nice lunch to take to the the Pie Tree Apple Farm in Sweden. I am not one to complain publicly. But this was the worst lunch experience we have ever had. We felt badly for the lady at the counter, she was trying, but the owner, short order chef, did not listen to her or read what she wrote, My husband does not like onions, but ordered a veggie wrap. No wraps today, so okay, Syrian bread. I asked for a BLT and requested no tomatoes but would like the avocado that was offered. She noted all that we requested and we said we would like it to go. The other owner, lady of the restaurant, saw we were waiting and saw that others were sitting at the counter, we were a to go. She announced that she had to place the order for the next day or there would be no food on Monday. The chef owner came out and put a closed sign on the door. This was at 12;30 on Sunday. We waited,... 40 minutes for this fiasco to play out. . My husband reminded the owner chef that he did not want onions. We were given a BLT with tomatoes, no avacodos, and my husbands sandwich was laced with onions. No napkins were given and my husband had to ask for straws. I gave my BLT to my dog and he was iffy. My husband threw his sandwich, out the Syrian bread was cracked and not fresh. We bought doughnuts at Pie Tree Orchard to fill us up and I highly recommend it! The view is spectacular and the people there are stellar!! Can't wait for Fall to pick apples there!
My wife and I went to The Common Loon for the first time under the new ownership and we were blown away at how drastically improved the regular menu is and they have daily specials too!! They have a creative chef, who whipped up something quickly for my wife that wasn’t on the menu and I had the stuffed pepper soup. More importantly than the great service, was how friendly and accommodating Erin, Chef Cheryl and co owner Bill were. We are looking forward to them implementing more great changes in the future, including the possibility of special nights when they may open for dinner. We walked in as complete strangers and left with a group of new friends for life. We can’t wait to go back.
Great food and even better people!
