The seafood chowder is delicious, and the haddock at the fish counter is very fresh. The store is packed with goods made in Maine, including toys, cards, jams, oyster crackers, etc. Very friendly people, especially the young woman at the cash register (Alissa?), she warmly welcomed me each time I went in to shop during the month I spent in the area. Chipmans Wharf excels at customer service.
We ordered live lobsters from this company to be shipped to Florida and we couldn’t have been more pleased!! This was our first year ordering from them and they knocked it out of the park! The packaging was top notch and the lobsters were amazing!
We visited when the kitchen portion was closed for the off-season. However, you can still visit their marketplace portion. What a great experience. The market is chock full of souvenirs and the best part are their ready made meals. We bought their chowders, mussels and live lobster.
Stop by and treat yourself to some great selections of seafood.
It is very clean and the family is great. If I lived close, I would visit and shop every week.
I visited in mid October, a little after many places had closed for the season but was happy to find the market at Chipman's still open. The lobster was so fresh and flavorful and my parents loved the seafood chowder, better than any they'd had. I would also recommend trying their lobster mac'n' cheese made with big chunks of lobster. We also enjoyed the gift shop, a nice addition! Overall an excellent experience, especially from the friendly young lady who helped pick out our lobsters from their tanks. It's obvious that the folks at Chipman's take great pride in what they do. Thank you for a delicious experience!
Best lobsters in Maine and friendly services. I bought 5 of Selected Hard Shell....
Thank you for the prompt delivery, fresh product, and quality. I will be doing business with you in the future!
I had a lobster roll and my wife had the crab cakes. We both thought the food tasted good. I really liked the Maine-sourced potato chips that came with my sandwich. We ate from the upstairs deck. It was clean and offered a view of the working dock. All in all, we enjoyed this stop during our time exploring the Bold Coast.
Great take and bake items
Absolutely fantastic!! I'm so glad I trusted the other reviews and went out of my way for this soon not to be so hidden gem. Great prices with great food. I wish I could have come back a 2nd time to try a 2lb lobster and another slice of that wild blueberry pie. They have a nice little gift shop as well. Do yourself a favor and make the journey if you find yourself in Maine!

Really outstanding lunch. My wife and I ate outside which was very enjoyable and a nice view of the water. We both had the half and half lobster/crab roll and I had the special corn and shrimp chowder and she the regular clam chowder. All were great. Will make an effort to stop by again during the remainder of our vacation in Maine.
Perfect spot. Perfect lobster roll
They make the best lobster roll I have ever had. Bar none! It was 10 times better than what I had over in Bar Harbor and it cost less. You get a beautiful view of Narraguagus Bay, and you can watch the boats come in with their fresh haul.
Yep, that was gosh darn good. As we drove down a serenic Maine road we came across Chipmans Wharf. There are lobstermen literally unloading the fresh catch of the day into the restaurant. Got the hot roll and it was amazing ($20). The bun Was perfectly toasted with lots of butter. It was piled high with lots of great lobster! My partner got the scallops and she said they were perfect. Do yourself a favor and stop at Chipmans Wharf anytime you are even close to this place!
Fresh lobster right off the boat. Hard to beat!
