Having the waitress follow me and my family to the care to complain and be rude about not getting a big enough tip. Is absolutely the most embarrassing and disrespectful thing I have ever experienced. If this is how the staff does business I would NEVER recommend it to anyone.
Ate here with my family Memorial Day Sunday 5/26/24. The waitress was RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. (Not Alex, she's a love and we wish we only ever had her) I don't know the Rude ones name but she had already given her notice and was clearly checked out. She got mad at us because we switched tables as the really awesome music was just a touch loud for my senior Aunt. The waitress copped an attitude, refused to serve us, even when we moved back to "Her" table so as not to upset her. Alex saved the day after the manager/cook kindly took our order. And then had a local man holler at us not to come back to Monson, you don't need our "kind" there? Even the staff was apologizing for the rude ones actions. But the damage was done. Maybe they thought we were tourists because we don't go there every day. Or because it was our first time for the season. But my family has been in that area over 200+ years. We are as local as they come even if it's our second home now. The way we were treated was inexcusible, and we will NEVER go there again. EVER.
We love the Lakeshore house and highly recommend you stop in for some great food and drink. The atmosphere is laidback and friendly!
The wild mushroom ravioli is amazing! Everything was fresh and delicious. Can’t wait to go back!
This place is a fun atmosphere, love being able to sit outside and eat..very friendly people and good food!
An impromptu lunch along the road was an unexpected delight. We opted to sit inside although seating outside afford a beautiful view of Lake Hebron. The menu was varied, food we selected delicious.
My family love this restaurant. Usually go after a hike in Monson. This time it was for takeout. My husband and son got the mushroom ravioli. Excellent. I got the pot roast. Delicious!! Best I ever had. Only probem was I forgot to remind them to get me a side of french fries. Love those fries!. Be prepared to wait for the food. Believe me it's worth it.
We were in town for camp, and wanted to grab a bite to eat. This place was fantastic. The server was a great help, and very accommodating. Our camp is off grid, so we loved the fact we could pay $5 for a fully stocked shower with warm water! The apps and beer were great, and atmosphere fantastic. We did a Gyro and wrap for dinner and both were exceptional. So glad to have found a place like this when we are in the area. Well worth the stop, and fantastic views of the lake!
We had a great experience at the Lobster House last night! We did not have a reservation ( “reservations recommended” is clearly posted at the door, so we will remember this for next time). The hostess did not turn us away- instead she asked if we would mind sitting at the bar. We ran into Popham neighbors, including the bartender, who we had not seen since he was a little boy! Then we got to chat with a nice young couple visiting from NY. Oh, and the food was great too!
seafood ,service, friendly atmosphere and lobster man's daughter martini exceeded my expectations

This is a small restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and full bar, pleasant service, but be prepared to spend some time as the food preparation takes a fair amount of time.
Excellent food. The kind of place where they know the "regulars", but welcome travelers. A frequent spot for Appalachian trail hikers to relax. Easy to strike up a conversation, if you choose to sit at the outside tables, with someone hiking from Georgia to Maine.
Wonderful little place in a beautiful setting. Great friendly service. Lobster roll and quesadilla were excellent. Nice outside seating right on the lake with great views!
Stopped for a late lunch after touring around the area. Outdoor seating near the lake. Also plenty of indoor seating. Wait staff were at hand when needed. I had the fried haddock and it was plentiful and with fries. Did not leave there hungry. They do have some lodging for those trekking the Appalachian Trail.
I spent 6 days vacationing in Monson, ME. I lunched here the second day then returned again twice to enjoy myself again. Patrons can eat inside the building, but I ate outside on the patio between the building and the lake. Locals arrive at the restaurant by boat and tie up at the dock. Staff was pleasant and meals were delicious. Kid friendly, dog friendly. I had the smoked trout appetizer -twice!
