My husband asked for medium burger and I asked for medium well. Both our burgers were charcoal. I had to load my burger with mustard to eat it. Was really disappointed. Was there once before and it was amazing.

Friendly staff, large delicious portions, great atmosphere, dining room is impressive. A bit on the pricey side $. Nice view of Long lake from the back deck.

The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere. The building is beautiful. We had a very good waitress and service. We have had good dinners in the past; however, my meal was not good last night. I ordered pan seared scallops, which on the menu it says seared raw. I asked the waitress if they would be raw and she said that was a misprint on the menu. I told her I wanted them cooked. They were very dry and chewy - very OVER cooked. I ate them because I hadn’t eaten since breakfast and was hungry, but they were awful.
After waiting for over an hour we asked for our food to go - just to wait an additional 30 + minutes for our food. All for the price of $76. So much for staying local.
A total disappointment. It started off with overly long wait for service followed by a New England claim chowder that was pasty and obviously made from a commercial soup base; and a captains casserole type dish for $32 that contained three base, scallops, two shrimp, a small lobster claw and an overcooked piece of fillet covered with commercial bread sprinkles. Aside from everything being terribly overpriced it was uninspiring and avoid ambience.
Great lobster roll out on the deck with a killer view and a big pile of fries. Excellent and attentive service from a very hard working Connor.
Not a great experience. My $30 burger was cooked well done when ordered “blue” or rare because the waitress didn’t understand my request. The burger arrived with half the bacon as advertised on the menu. A classic cheap-ass cheat move where they fold a single piece to look like two pieces, but too lazy to cut the piece in half. Third issue with the server/burger; It comes with six slices of cheese. I was told there are three cheese options and requested two pieces of each. Sadly, the kitchen staff is “too incompetent for this request”- waitress. At the end of the day. The food is really expensive, uninspired, and generally disappointing. The staff lacks basic service skills or are encouraged to be non-accommodating/quasi hostile. Based on the waitresses explanation the kitchen is incapable. Just another tourist trap in a town without a single restaurant worth patronizing. So, on par with its contemporaries in a D- district.
Completely unsanitary conditions. Multiple people saw the chef preparing salads with his BARE HANDS! No gloves. Grabbing veggies and breaking lettuce with no sanitary protection. Absolutely disgusting. He saw us looking in and put gloves on. Guilty as charged. I will never come here again.
The location is perfect on Long Lake but service was awful at Bob Marley event. I asked a server to place a food order and she mentioned ‘not my section’ but would ask. We asked multiple times and were never served. I’m a diabetic and did not eat supper as I thought we could order food there. I felt lied to and ignored and that’s no way to treat customers. We saw people being served around us. I know there were a lot of people there but maybe another option to order food if waiters refuse to serve? I have been a patron of the Freedom Cafe for several years but we no longer return.
I took a day off from White Mountain summit seeking and headed to Sebago Lake. Looking for a place with a lobster roll, I found Freedom Cafe- beautiful outdoor seating, friendly staff and a double lobster roll!! Checked off on my bucket list for this vacation!

We come up and stay at the lake every year and come here for dinner all the time. This is the first night where my family has come, been seated, and just...no one came to the table. 20 minutes went by without a server so we walked out. Horrid service...or rather, none at all.
We loved the fried Brussel sprout app.
The service and location are great. We had plain fried cauliflower and clam chowder. The cauliflower tasted sour and I should have sent it back. I left half of it. My wife said the chowder was only mediocre, but she didn’t elaborate.
One drink each and with a tip $65. No need to go back.
We have been here multiple times in the past several years on our visits to the area. Always excellent food and service! Looking forward to our next visit!
This is nothing against our server because she was great and very sweet and accomodating... management on the other hand... my husband and I went here to celebrate my 30th birthday... He heard really great things about this place from a number of his coworkers and people that live locally and let me tell you... we were both were very disappointed. The food was alright, nothing I'd really rave about... but the cocktail menu... VODKA, VODKA, AND MORE VODKA. Not much variety at all... which coming from a bartender/server of 10+ years, if you knew what you were doing then you would know that not everyone loves vodka. I ordered the cucumber cooler, which is typically made with gin... just because you use Effen Cucumber Vodka, does not make it a cucumber cooler... that was the most horrible tasting drink I ever had to force down. Clearly the "customer is always right," does not apply to this establishment. Any good manager would take it off the bill and accomodate the guest and offer something else. NOPE NOT THIS PLACE!!! I ended up forcing myself to drink it because I was not letting my husband pay for a nasty drink to be dumped down the sink anyway. So I order the Aperol Spritz and it was alright. I will say they need more variety on the cocktail list, and I will give you a new recipe for your Cucumber Cooler FREE of charge... GIN (anything but well).. muddled cucumber & mint, touch of simple syrup, splash of lime juice, give it a hell of a good shake, & top it off with soda water... I'm sure you will get way better reviews off that one menu change. Good luck this summer cause y'all are gonna need it!
