We had been to this restaurant before and enjoyed it so we came back. But now they have embraced a horrible automated ordering system using your smartphone so the staff does very little while the customer does all their work for them. It was a complete hassle and we will never be back. We saw another table get up and leave when they realized they had to be their own server. Completely idiotic system.
Food was great. Service was pretty quick. The only negative feedback would be that we did not enjoy looking at the menu and ordering food by the QR code. Did not like that at all.
We were recommended not to go to Rick's Cafe, but after going to all of the other local places for the last few years, we decided to give it a try. Boy were we wrong! We should've listened to our friend who told us to stay away. Ordering on the app is an awful experience! Everyone, including the kids, have to put in their phone number and email address just to order the food. When the food arrived, the fish sandwich with tartar sauce, ended up being a chicken sandwich and after a bite, we realized that it wasn't fish. A lot of the other food lacked flavor. The cocktail menu looked good and we ordered what should have been a very yummy blueberry vodka and lemonade drink. But if there was any vodka in there, I'd be really surprised. For $15, the drink should have been much better! They highlight on their website that this is a no tipping restaurant, but for seven people, $260 is still very expensive. I understand that they have to roll the tip into the food prices, but I've had better meals for half the price at nicer restaurants with better views of the water. Run, don't walk, away from this restaurant. Save your time and your money, there are much better places in Naples.
Really dislike the all-virtual menu, tipless service, and order by phone. If this is the wave of the future, I want no part of it. Dined with our phones - out of necessity - to order, no waiter/waitress, etc. Feels like you're working the whole time. Not relaxing at all.
We had a 7:15 reservation and had been before so we understood the ordering process. We followed recommendation to put apps and drink order in first. Apps came and were great. At 7:58 we were told the kitchen closed at 8:00. We quickly put in our food order even though many items were out of stock including gluten free options. Advance communication of the kitchen closing would have been appreciated. Great setting on the water but experience could have been better. Most of the staff were excellent and attentive!
Tourist trap. Overpriced and service system is impersonal.
Limited menu selections. Was hoping for more of a seafood selection. Ordering system sucks. It was pretty easy for us to figure out but definitely took away from the experience of relaxing and being waited on. Won't be returning. The other couple we were with had difficulty navigating the QR menu system and became frustrated with the whole place. Really put a damper on a relaxing dining experience.
This is my 1st time experiencing a digital menu & no tipping needed. It was an interesting experience!
The waitresses were all friendly & very helpful.
This $24 Mediterranean Rice Bowl was delightful. It comes with pita bread, but I asked for it to be held. It was filling & a great size. The outdoor views of Long Lake are attractive. Bring a sweater in case of breezes. The Cafe is also open at night.
Don't waste your money.
Food was disappointing to say the least ,fish n chips were way overcooked. Chicken sandwiches were soggy and gross.
Its a FUN Local Place with a Trendy Crowd. Been there for Decades ☠️ 🦜 🍸🧉 . Everyone comes to Rick's!

Turn the heat on, the entire staff is wearing jackets. Ordering through your phone is obnoxious at face value, worse when you can't tip through it.
Sloppy.
Place is a bit of a tourist trap. The food isn't bad but the drinks were way overly sweet and the service was just odd the way they do things. The location is prime and frankly I wish a better place would move in. There are better options nearby on the causeway.

Sorry, but what a cluster foxtrot this place is. Walked in with my brother and his wife. Well, if you want a normal place to drop in and eat, this isnt it. They dont take cash. Which is."legal tender for all debts, public and private" you have to scan your phone and do you ordering that way I guess by viewing their online menu. We walked out and so did the two couples that came in behind us. So if you don't have a "smart" phone, or a bank /credit account you can not eat there. Sad, because I remember when the place was normal. Talk about discriminatory practices.

Hostess Haley was super helpful! We had not been to a restaurant that was no cash no tip before. Food was delicious, drinks and food came out quickly and it was a great experience!
