I asked for the breakfast burrito without eggs, cheese, or meat. Reiterated to server a few times when ordering AND double checked that it was vegan when it arrived. It had meat in it. They made another but it’s always very disappointing when that happens.

Too hot inside, no A/C, took 30 minutes for my bloody to get to the table, servers and bartender don't seem like they know how to work at a restaurant, as someone who managed a restaurant in the area

Did a cross country trip from California and this was the best breakfast we had the entire trip, good enough we went back twice. Husband said it's the best Benedict he's had.

We were in area on a Monday night and found the Hoot as an option. Was told they do a special menu every Monday night for industry night. The night we were there was Southern Food. We almost left as we aren’t big meat eaters, but we decided to stay and try out the ribs. Holy smokes. They were amazing. The bartender was also our server and he was a great person to chat with about the area and the menu. Thanks!

Amazing food - we came here for the first time in 2021 and we’re amazed by the lemon ricotta pancakes. It was so good we had to come back for a 2nd time and it did not disappoint. Blueberry pancakes were out of this world as well as both of our “classik breakfast” plates. Great atmosphere right off Route 1 and very friendly staff. Love the self serve coffee station too! Thank you

Loooooove this place. We’ve been there around 5 times over the last few years and I just booked brunch and dinner for us for our trip up next week! Can’t wait. Consistently amazing food. My husband is Lebanese and they had a Lebanese night and he said it was the best muhammara he’d ever had!

Food was excellent, ambience was excellent, service was excellent. The pancakes were top notch and the best we’ve had in Maine. Only downside is we live too far away to come every morning.

Such a pleasure dining at The Hoot this evening with guest chef Concepta’s Studio. We stuffed ourselves full of South African Indian Food- Durban Curry, and only remembered to take a picture as we were spooning the most delicious trifle into our already sated bellies. We just could not resist! Janiece, owner of The Hoot, does such a fabulous job bringing food from around the world into our gorgeous little town. We so appreciate her, her staff and her ingenuity. Cheers!

LOVED eating here. It was our first time in the area and my husband and I are considered buying some property nearby. Our server was incredibly kind and helpful and talked to us about his experience living in Maine. He also heated up my apple cider, which was an extra step on his part. The menu has a variety of options and almost all of the ingredients are locally sourced. We had sweet potato biscuits and gravy and the pork sandwich (I think). Both were so good and my husband is a little picky. The inside of the restaurant was lovely and everyone who worked there greeted us and said goodbye as we left. The outdoor space looks very nice as well. This spot is definitely worth a try, even if you're just passing through.

We had an absolutely insane wait for our food and that largely marred our experience, and before I say anything more I will mention that due to this, they put the meal on the house which was a nice touch they did not have to do. Food itself was good, there’s a nice selection which is ok priced (expect to spend $25 per person) and the atmosphere is cozy. The 20 min wait for a table was completely reasonable, we had no resi and the place looked busy, but we spent nearly 1 and a half hours waiting for food and had to follow up on it multiple times.

Good brunch here. Was a little weird that I ordered an alcoholic coffee drink and was expected to go inside and get my own coffee, then they sent out a tiny pitcher with the alcohol to spike it. Came off a little strange. Good atmosphere and brunch was tasty. There are some interesting choices, for sure.

I came here once before and loved the food and it’s a cool place, the only complaint I had is they did not warn me I would get charged for a sip of coffee I had while waiting for a table. This morning we went and the food was not great, we had a reservation and still had to wait an hour. Not sure about this ok anymore.
