Homey atmosphere; great drinks; fresh, delicious food and sublime deserts. Best pub I’ve found since moving to Fairfield. Atmosphere feels like an invitation to a friend’s house for dinner. 5stars.

This place knows how to cook fries and season a burger. Cheese fries with bacon was amazing, the Black and Blue burger was outstanding, well seasoned nice grill on it with mushrooms and onions. Well done. Jill was very helpful and the only server and was on her game. Will come back again.

Ignore bad reviews and give this place the chance it deserves. Totally unassuming bar but worth the stop. Easy access off the highway for lunch. Baked chicken wings were fantastic (all homemade sauces and dips) and great drinks. Bartender was fantastic and friendly, and the locals made me wish I lived closer.

I was excited to try the wings, but I was disappointed. Pricing, parking hassle, charges for every little extra (even a credit card fee!), a drafty dining room, and barflies all made the Thirsty Mule a disappointing experience. I will say that the buffalo sauce had extra kick, but the $2 per wing section price definitely wasn't balanced or justified by quality, presentation, service, or atmosphere.Yes, you read that correctly! Five average sized wing SECTIONS, not whole wings, were $10.99. Ten wing sections were $18.99, plus I was charged for ordering two different flavors on one plate, for an extra cup of dip, charged a digital payment fee, and if I wanted all flats i would have been charged an additional $2. Side note: you will not be brought or offered an extra plate for your bones.

Parking: There is not enough parking available. Most spaces are downhill behind the bar, and there is a long flight of stairs for the back door. As I walked to the front (because there was snow on the stairs) I pondered how many drunks have tumbled down them and how high their insurance is.

Wheelchair accessibility: There is a little ramp at the front, but the few parking spaces nearby are cramped and usually full. I don't recommend this place for anyone with a chair.

Nice little bar and grill. Food and service was great. Not very busy for a late lunch in the fall. Awesome that we have ATV trail access to eat here! Thank you to the Messalonskee Riders ATV Club.

This place has AMAZING food, fun bartender, and generous drink pours. We stopped here on our way through based on the great reviews and they aren’t wrong. Would 100% come back.

They had an unexpected late opening today. (Supposed to open at Noon and instead opened at 2pm). The roast beef sandwich was very good! I added the mushrooms and onions, it was great. The Server Allie was also very nice. This review would have been 5 Stars except they charged me $1.75 for hot sauce! It was a tiny plastic cup of Franks. I had asked for “any hot sauce except Tabasco.” Who charges for condiments? Makes me wonder if they charge extra for catchup too? ??‍♂️??‍♂️
