Stopped in for lunch after walking the Marginal Way ! We had a Lobster Roll and a beverage it was good. This place over looks Perkins Cove which has a lot of Fishing Boats anchored in the Harbor. Great place !

While the food is good, the prices appear to be slightly higher than those of other restaurants in the area. The meal was good, though not exceptional, with very fresh ingredients. I enjoyed the Hummus appetizer and, if you like a thin broth Haddock Chowder, theirs was very flavorful. The Rum Punch was great. Valet parking is available free of charge, with a suggested tip for the attendant, who was very friendly and personable. If you are looking for a reliable dining option with great views, outdoor seating, and friendly staff, Barnacle Billy's or Barnacle Billy's Etc may be the ideal choice.
The best way to enjoy fresh seafood is to eat it by the water in Maine, and that’s exactly what Barnacle Billy’s and Barnacle Billy’s Etc offers. Both restaurants are located next to each other at the beginning of Perkins Cove and both offer dining inside and outside (weather permitting). We prefer the “Etc” side of the business, as it has a really nice patio by the water with natural shade from trees and the dining room is very spacious with windows overlooking the water for when outside dining is not an option. Etc has an extensive menu, including their baked lobster pie, which is excellent and pictured in this review. Fresh lobster meat baked in butter with breadcrumbs topping.

Pros - Outdoor seating in the most beautiful lush floral garden overlooking active marina ( think garden of Eden perfect ) - our server Andrea was excellent - drinks were good - husband enjoyed the local blueberry beer - local ice cream was good Cons: -35 minute wait but it was 730 On Sat night in season - food was okay.. - Clam chowder was very thin, lacked flavor. -Fish and chips was thickly breaded, tartar sauce was Kens prepackaged cups! - No TP or PT in the bathroom at all..

We traveled out of our way to get here as we heard of the great reviews.The place was packed as it was peak tourist season. We all ordered lobster rolls. Conclusion was we have never eaten lobster this FLAVORLESS. Sandwich was accompanied by small bag of chips which was the highlight of the meal.

This restaurant is a must-stop on our visits to Maine. The steamers are always so sweet, the lobster roll has the right consistency of lobster, mayo, and seasonings. There is nothing like Barnacle Billy's!
