Only 2 vegan options. A cinnamon twist and a raspberry twist. Got one of each for NINE BUCKS!! Not terrible but not worth the money or a special stop. I asked if they ever have more vegan items and the worker bees said sometimes theres a raspberry bar. I wont be back.
Best pastries and coffee in town

I've been a frequent customer of Bread and Roses Bakery when I am visiting.
Today they were out of scones and chai latte on a Sunday morning. I let another customer go ahead of me while I decided on something else. Decided on a cappuccino & almond croissant. Paid my bill and waited for my breakfast. Was given my cappuccino but no croissant. Asked the young lady who brought my drink. She replied they were out of almond croissants and it shouldn't be on my bill. Checked receipt and it wasn't.
Why didn't the young lady who took my order tell me that. Now a long line and not waiting again. Normally this place is 5 stars but not this trip.

There's always a line here on the weekend when I drive by, and now I know why -- it's just a takeout window. They had a good selection of breakfast egg sandwiches, pastries, and other baked goods. I got a cinnamon twist and a raspberry cheese Danish croissant to go. The croissant was delicious, and the twist was good but there wasn't much to it and it fell apart in the bag. On this particular abnormally warm mid-October day, there were dozens of wasps and bees hanging around, so if they make you nervous, it might not be worth waiting in a long line -- it takes a while to get to the counter.
The drinks just keep getting better!

To say that they did an amazing job on the custom cake I ordered wouldn't do justice to the skill and expertise of the chef who created this masterpiece.

Very small, likely a pop-up shop from the other bakery? They had a very lackluster selection, in a small footprint that appears to be ill prepared for the crowds they get.
Ordered an egg and cheese croissant sandwich. I believe I was given one with veggie sausage (it's supposed to be an option, based on the menu - not the standard). I had to toss it out. Money wasted.

Last year, I saw three shows at Ogunquit Playhouse. I purchased chocolate chip cookies there that were among THE BEST that I've ever had so I had to check out the bakery when I was there last weekend. I wasn't disappointed--delicious food and friendly service.

This product sounded like a great foodie gift. Ordered on Goldbelly. Delivery was fast but my mom in law said it was so dry and hard it was inedible. $59 down the toilet.

The Blueberry and Cheese danish was amazing!! Unfortunately, our group ordered four hot drinks and three of the four were lukewarm and flavorless. We would not return for the coffee, but the danish was great.
This is my first time ordering from Bread and Roses and they did not disappoint! Lindsay was so easy to work with. I explained what I was hoping for and she knew exactly what to do. The cake decor and lettering was beautiful, so happy with how it came out! Lots of compliments at the party. At pickup, the staff was super friendly and helpful. Will definitely order again when I’m in the area, thank you!

I ordered a quarter sheet mocha mousse cake for my wife's milestone birthday. We had about eighteen people and there was plenty to honor requests for seconds and into the next couple of days. It's a good thing because it got RAVE reviews. Many said it was the best cake they ever had. And the bakers did a beautiful job with the decorating. It was a great way to end the celebration. My late mother was a professional baker so I have a well trained sweet tooth and high expectations. This cake checked all the boxes. I'm going to refer to it as Death Row Cake because if I ever end up there this will definitely be on my last meal menu request.
Can't rave enough about this place. I'm from Philly and have been to many bakery/coffee shops in Maine since moving here. Bread and roses is by far my favorite. And honestly the pastries rival my favorite Italian bakeries back in Philly
